2. Good Range (Extends from the far side of the back house to mid-way through the front house on our property)
3. Played nicely with my existing WRT-54G Linksys Router (connected to my cable modem)
4. Played flawlessly with my MAC address filtering and my 128-bit encryption I use at my house
5. When I unplug and relocate the extender, simply plugging it in leads to reconnection and internet access within seconds (this is great as I was able to set it up at my desk, walk across the property and plug it in, and whalla!)Cons: I am not sure this is really a "con", but what I'd like to see one day is a flawless "Extension" of my network where I can hop onto my "PrivateNetwork" and it flawlessly hand between extenders. Currently, this extender has its own signal, so your computer will need to connect to your primary OR the extender.Note that in Windows 7, I'm able to simply add both networks to my "preferred" list, and whenever I turn on my laptop it will grab whichever signal is stronger.Side Note - as other comments have mentioned, you need to add 1 to the MAC Address shown. The address shown on the device is for the hardwire port, and not the wireless. If using encryption like I am, you will need to add the extender to your MAC Address White List before a successful

Upgradeable antennaeCons: Setup acts like it completed correctly, devices can attempt a connection with the extender, but it will not give out any IP addresses. I'm starting to wonder if WiFi range extenders aren't snake oil...Easy-to-follow setup instructions

The Dlink was tough, after getting with tech support i found out that channels have to match. The Netgear was a piece of cake using the setup CD.Works as advertised. Setup on both D-Link DIR-655 and a NETGEAR WNDR3700-100NAS.
The Dlink was tough, after getting with tech support i found out that channels have to match. The Netgear was a piece of cake using the setup CD. I would like to amplify the signal even further and catch more of the signal on the fringe of the main router. Maybe make a recommended antenna with additional gain.Installed in a large 7K SQ single story home. Would like to push it out to the casita
and a repeater in my neighbors house and it pics up the signal from probably 800 feet away through trees and metal sheds etc. It then repeats the signal all over the house, able to pick up signal in the basement with an old laptop G internal broadcom card. Works with WEP and WPA, also you can filter by MAC address. Ping times to the main router are 2 and 3 ms. You can stream youtube videos with no apparent loss in performance.
I think in terms of N repeaters you dont have many choices (I don't think any) - fortunatlely this one works well. Again it has no issues with G or N Netork Interface cards using it, although I don't know how well it would work if you were using it to pick up a signal from a G source.Cons: Its Hawking and I have had mostly bad experiences with them. This was not one of themI have a belkin N1 wireless router in an upstairs window
