IOGEAR's USB 2.0 Automatic Printer Switch allows two PCs and / or Macs to share one printer or multi-function printer. Simply submit a print job and the printer automatically switches to the preferred computer. The switch also enables two computers to easily share one external hard drive, scanner, or any USB device. No more plugging and unplugging between computers.

Automatic switch function is software based and only available with USB printer or the printer function of a multi-function printer. For connecting and using other types of USB devices, you can switch by using the push-button on the USB switch or with the included software.

    Cons: While the computers recognize the switch, it won't allow communications to attached device regardless of manual switching or software switching. No amount of driver reloading helps.

    Since I don't have my Primera Bravo XR on the network and I couldn't afford getting the Primera Networking software, I wondered if this USB switch would be a way to share the Bravo XR between a Windows XP and a MacPro computer. It works flawlessly! I am so grateful for B&H Photo having this in stock! Especially with the ability to switch within the OS of the computer you want to have using the device is what sold me on this!

    Cons: Definitely is not "Automatic" You must remember to manually switch from one computer to another by the push-switch on the top of the unit....that's the only reason I docked it one egg.
