I don't use the hotkey switching for the KVM, prefer the hardware buttons on the switch. But those work flawlessly. Extremely happy!

    Pros: Cheap and works well.
Cons: Don't get if you use it in conjunction with VMware or any virtualization software for testing or other purposes.
The numlock for switching the kvm can be a pain when you mouse over a vm image that has the opposite setting to your host machine ....and back again too soon ...the kvm switches you. Would off preferred to be able to set the key that does the change or to have a different key for switching,

I had no problems with video up to my monitor s maximum resolution of 1920x1080. Though I don t particularly like that I have to have cables coming out of all 4 sides of the box, I can see that it was necessary because there isn t too much room. The monitor and USB cables are combined into a single connector at one end, so don t lose the ones that came with the switch. Other than that, it performs just like you would expect a KVM switch to.

The unit was straightforward to set up, and worked fine, *except* that the mouse and keyboard (from Apple) for some reason won't talk to my laptop (a Macbook). Oddly enough, another Trendnet KVM that I own gets along fine with that same computer. Since the video and sound worked, I hate to have to ding it a full star. ...

This KVM switch works exactly as advertised. I really like the fact that it doesn't need it's own power source. I have it hooked up to a OSX, Vista, and 2 XP computers. I had it hooked up to Ubuntu and it worked fine. I went to other retailers and they wanted more money for less-able KVM switches. Don't be fooled by other "prettier" KVM switches that aren't as functional. The only thing that kind of bothers me about this KVM is that it has plugs for the hardware on the front, back, and sides of the switch... Basically, this KVM helps me save a lot of room on my desk for all my computers, but I have to look at the ugly cords no matter which direction is facing me. It serves it's purpose, but I kind of feel like an engineer should have figured a way to make this more aesthetically pleasing. ...

Pros: Cheap Price to share KVM for up to 4 computers
Cons: Poor video quality, blurry, Trendnets website says that to fix this you need to change the resolution, or refresh rate - not an acceptable answer, have it blurry or poor quality?
Cheap Price to share KVM for up to 4 computers Poor video quality, blurry, Trendnets website says that to fix this you need to change the resolution, or refresh rate - not an acceptable answer, have it blurry or poor quality? The case itself is awkward to use. There is no place to put it without cables hanging out - it connects cables on all 4 sides, there is a cable comins out of each side making it hard to place anywhere. I think i will pay a little more do more research and get a better product.

Had a two port Trendnet KVM switch and needed another port. Both the two and four port units are flawless. My only wish is that I could afford to upgrade to a KVM that is quot;2.0 quot; suitable.

Pros: It works to connect up to 4 computers to one usb keyboard and mouse with audio. Works well under windows.
Cons: Linux support is questionable. Trendnet says the universal hotkey for switching to another machine is Scrlk pressed twice within 2 seconds. This only works under Linux when at a console(not in X). If you are in X windows then you have to press Numlk twice within 2 seconds. The kvm also freezes up periodically and I have to unplug all usb cables from all connected computers to power cycle the kvm.

I use an iogear kvm at work with Linux and it works flawlessly.

It works well for me over all. I currently hook up three computers to it. Both hard-key and soft-key switches work well. the only small issue is the booting up computer should be switched to current, don t leave it starting up in the background. otherwise, it don t remember the screen resolution setting.
