- Plugin power cord
- Plugin network cable to any open router port(s)
- Plugin other devices to the switchSo easy, anyone at any tech level can do it.Cons: None.
Used Two of these switches to run a GigE backbone between the first and third floors of my house.

Small and rugged all steel enclosure.
rubber mounting feet included or mount it using the holes.
Runs cool to the touch for 24/7 operation.Cons: Nothing yet...High through put, without any noticeable IO lag.

Runs cool to the touch for 24/7 operation. Nothing yet... I would have no problem recommending this to friends clients.
supports jumbo frames up to 9K and has 10 Gbps mesh for home use thats plenty for most of us.
mountable metal case.
three year warranty.Cons: I've used all the ports. should have purchased the eight port version but thats my fault not the switch.it's been running 24-7 a little over four months with no issues and the speed is great.

three year warranty. I've used all the ports. should have purchased the eight port version but thats my fault not the switch. for the money it's a great switch and I would definitely purchase it again.
More energy-efficient than some of the competition.Cons: Power-brick does not say it is for Trendnet. The switch itself does not list its power requirements.Quick-start quide.
More energy-efficient than some of the competition. Power-brick does not say it is for Trendnet. The switch itself does not list its power requirements. This is a comparitive review of a D-Link DGS-2205 and TRENDnet TEG-S50G. The Trendnet came with a paper quick-start guide, Dlink came with a CD (which I have not checked out). Both are wall-mountable, but only the Dlink came with mounting kit. Both claim to be green, but my Kill-a-Watt says the Trendnet uses slightly less power (and the box says more about HOW it tries to be green).
Both work; haven't done any performance tests.
Points to Dlink for listing the power specs on both the unit and the power brick, and for putting their name on the brick. Trendnet did NOT put the power specs on the unit, and the brick does not have the Trendnet name, so good luck if you ever let them get separated and mixed with other components.
Overall they seem about equal, depending on your priorities. Both are "4" with me until Trendnet fixes the power bricks and Dlink reduces power consumption.
-Gigabit, I love bandwidth
-Green
-Metal construction, seems sturdy without feeling heavy
-Beefy rubber feetCons: -No cool features, but I can live with that
-Only 5 ports-Fairly inexpensive
-Gigabit, I love bandwidth
1000 MbpsCons: noneWorks right out the box.
1000 Mbps none cheap as dirt.
Metal housing
Slot holes for mounting inverted or on a wallCons: none that i can think ofWorks as described
Metal housing
Slot holes for mounting inverted or on a wall none that i can think of The device feels solid, almost overbuilt. Be sure to check the prices on the 5 vs 8 port models- sometimes they are almost the same.
-Looks really easy to take the cover off, only 2 easy to reach screws.
-Paint job is better than my $120 computer case's coat.
-Only uses 1W of power when only my desktop is connected with an 8Ft cable.
-Heavy
-Comes with rubber feet that you can put on if you're not going to hang it on the wall
-Barely warm even when browsing rich web sites with 3 computers attached for hours.
-Transmits farther than my dang router can. This guy supports full 1Gbps speed on 100ft cable, but my stupid linksys garbage router dumps it down to 100mbps when I plug it directly into the router. Stupid wireless router.Cons: I know it sounds kind of whiny, but if I glance at the led readout real quick, it looks like the 1000MBps lights are on if the 100MBps ones are lit. You have to look at it dead-on to discern the difference. Perhaps I'll take some foam and create cells for each light so they won't do that crud.
Share a gigabit connection among printers, game systems, and computers.
'Green' design uses only as much power as is required.Cons: None thus far.Just plug it in and it works.
Share a gigabit connection among printers, game systems, and computers.
'Green' design uses only as much power as is required. None thus far. My son's college has one wired gigabit Ethernet connection per student in campus housing. Students may not attach wireless routers. This TrendNet switch is a cost-effective solution allowing one wired connection to handle a network printer or two, a game system, and multiple computers. It can also be unplugged from the campus network to provide a quick private LAN in a lounge when sharing files on a group project. The green design powers down unused ports, and adjusts signal strength to the length of the cable attached.

Takes up little space
Only uses 2 watts None yet Good switch for the money. I used kill a watt and measure 2 watts being used for 4 ports vs my old 24 port switch using 17 watts. I'll report back if switch dies or anything goes wrong.
and to reply to the other use who said that this was not a Layer2 switch because you could only have one active port to the internet.......that user is wrong.....this is a layer2 switch and I have 5 pc's all on the inet at the same time........he needs to check his network.Cons: NONEAs soon as I connected my switch and powered it up it auto detected my gigabit devices and 10/100 fine......I ran many bittorrent downloads and definitely noticed an increase in speed.....my overnight data backups over the network run faster than ever....I LOVE THIS SWITCH, I would definitely recommend it.P.S. it supports jumbo frames too
