Quality disks w/o a single reject. None I bought 2 packs and am on my second stack. I am burning dvds from old videos so I needed the best transfer quality I could get. These are working great. I did reburn a few that I had on other disc...using the same 8mm tape...the playback on these discs were better so I re-recorded the others. Not one failure on over 100 so far.

My advice with respect to using them in a PC, DO NOT use a version of Nero less than 8x (works in Win7). For data disks there are no problems. If copying film ISO images to the HD, get the latest AnyDVD - some films have bad sector protection. Don't blame the media. Any_DVD_Clone works where Nero/AnyDVD may not.

None Verbatim has long been the de facto standard for burnable media. Usually people that get plenty of coasters with these high quality brands like Verbatim tend to have program, disc drive or other problems, not the media.

I have been burning media for years and have never got one coaster from and brand I have used. If people get coasters it is user error. Pros: I measured the performance of two of these discs with specialized Plextor software that measures two critical performance criteria (TE/FE) for DVDs. I was not too surprised that this stringent test revealed this particular batch of Verbatim discs to _far surpass any current discs_ that I have on hand (a huge and varied supply of blank DVDs) from other manufacturers. This includes the vaunted Japanese-made Taiyo Yuden, the long-time "gold standard" of 8x DVD-R performance.

Taiyo Yuden _used to have_ the superlative performance that I am witnessing with these current Verbatim discs. They are made by Mitsubishi Chemical Company, _not_ Verbatim).

Current Taiyo Yuden discs are just ordinary in this revealing test.

Without even burning one disc (while aware that the FE/TE test is only one of many parameters), I can conclude that, for the moment at least, _this is the best quality 16X DVD+R available on the market!!

This low "promo" price will quickly vanish--guaranteed.

Cons: None at all, barring expanded future tests with adverse results. It is impossible to be _too_ careful, considering what is happening in this churning market, along with the entry of new and exotic assembly locations. This batch of discs was assembled in the United Arab Emirate--of all places.

I think it is mostly attributed to my burner more than the discs themselves, so eggs were taken, but it is concerning. We back up pictures on them, but we don't trust them enough to be the final backup and also use a second hard drive and CD's for the really important stuff which is pictures and such.

BTW our CD's have almost no errors when we burn them. But with two CD-RW drives, I can only burn 1.4GB at a time instead of 4.7GB on our single DVD-RW drive.. it takes longer.

I've been a loyal customer for about 10 years and will continue to be , but I was shocked at how flimsy this was packed. Is there a shortage of popcorn packaging at the warehouse? The 100 DVD's weigh at least 5 pounds. The plastic base holding the dvd's was completely shattered. Luckily I still had my old base and was able to transfer the DVD's there. Otherwise, you know I wuv you guys. I wouldn't complain if I didn't.

This is a good price right now on these discs but I'm leary to try them again.

Not a single coaster in over 30 burns. None I doubt that with the current manufacturing techniqes that the problem is ever the media, it is the program. I made alot of coasters before I stumbled upon "DVD Flick" and "IMG Burn." These programs have not hurt a disc yet.

Like many others here, I've burned around 400-500 of these with ZERO problems (Lite-On Optical Drives). The few coasters I've had can all be attributed to "user error" and not the media. None Best blank DVD media outside of TYs!

BTW, I found other vendors that offer better price.

I recommend Sony, Fujifilm, Memorex, even riData over these verbatims that don't play on any regular dvd players. Verbatim used to be good but I will not be purchasing any more of their products.

This is the first time I have ever had any trouble with a Verbatim product, but the spindle of disks I received are about 30 % worthless. I once would only use Verbatim disks but now will be looking at other brands. Nothing but problems with these, even with a brand new LaCie burner. Have tried burning with the OS, Toast 7 and Toast 8 Titanium... always a shot in the dark.

Just started using these. Verbatim used to be the best, but now I get an occasional coaster from the ones manufactured in India as well. Still better than the others, but not the best anymore IMO. This has led me to try other brands like Memorex or Ritek since it s becoming harder to find deals on Verbatim. I m trying Memorex DL discs now at half the cost of Verbatim and it s working out kay so far; just burn at 2.4-4x and it ll be fine.

See other thoughts On my Lite-On SOHW-1673s recorder, when I burn a completely full DVD (~2hrs/4.37gb) at 16x, I get a lighter color, 1-cm band on the outermost part of the disc. When I burn at 12x, the color of the entire disc is uniform with no banding. This change in color seems to correspond to poorer quality playback on the last 30min of the video for some discs, ie pauses and skips, though other discs with the band seem to play back fine. Perhaps more of a recorder/writer issue than a disc problem.

I have primarily used Vebatim dvd+r's for most of my burning over the past four years. They have always been top notch quality until now. The disc code is still MCC004 but they're nothing like the last stack I had.

Verbatim CDs and DVDs have never let me down. Out of the 400 DVDs I ve burned, I have probably only made around 2 coasters from Verbatim and both were due to the burning software, not the media itself. But the new reason why I will only use these 16x DVD+R Verbatims is because, even though they say 16x, they burn at 18x with my Samsung 18x Multiburner. And it shaves off around 40 seconds to a minute off my burn time. Which means I can burn a full DVD at around 3 and a half to 4 minutes. Nuff said. Even though Verbatim may be pricey at times, they are still worth it.

To my great 'amazement', 16 out of 16 disks that I tried so far are coasters. I've burned probably more than 1000 disks with 5+ brands. All together, I had less than 10 coasters until I tried this pack. Just to be sure, I tried different contents (movie/file) on different drives. All coasters with no exception.

I came here with expectation of bad reviews, but it turned out 95% have been satisfied with the disks. What went wrong that caused my experience, I don't know and I will be curious to learn.

I am wondering if maybe it has something to do with the dvd burner one uses and what dvd's work best in that burner. Cons: None...esp compared to other brands I have used before.

This is my 5th cake box by Verbatim. With over 600 DVDs backed up I can truly say these are the best on the market. 1 or 2 out of 50 become coasters at 16x but there are many other factors that can cause that. None...esp compared to other brands I have used before. High quality DVDs for a great price!

Cons: To get a decent price on them you have to wait on a rebate which often takes a long time to get. On the positive side, I usually do end up getting it.

Fast... None Nothing against the media but you have to watch the +R vs. the -R in what you play the burned copies in. My NEC burner can handle both types easily, but one of the 4 DVD players we have won't play a +R copy. May just be cheap player, but it is something to take into consideration...

Consistent write quality DVD label area is on the bottom of disk and is a bit cramped. I do not write movies to these disks at 16X speeds. I do this to lessen the chance of writing errors. However, I have used these disks for a while now, and before I had 8X ones. Never a problem.

none none I bought one package of these DVD+R's on 12/19/2005. I'm using them in conjunction with a Lite-on SHW-160P6S DVD burner. I've only burnt one DVD using Alcohol 120% v1.9.5.3105. And it came out working ok. So no problems at the moment.

I keep my firmware up to date on my plexy so that may be why I have had such luck(or not)have had problems in the past with 16X dvd media (DYNEX)but none to report for this media. Oh did I mention CHEAP+I got a 25 pack of 52X CDR'S TO BOOT. Can't beat it.
