Verbatim 52x CD-R Media (95152)

i gave these to my mother as a gift, but have always had good luck with this brand name and that is why i bought them!

I just started using the LightScribe CD's and I love them to this point,... they are the best thing yet

Great quality labels have came out with these Cd's It's more of a heads up but printing a high quality or heavily designed label will take up to or more than 30 minutes on average. It could take up to an hour in some cases. Give em a shot if you're new to light-scribe and wonder what all the fuzz is about. You won't regret it and chances are you will never go back to standard CD's! These are great if you constantly make and need need to label Cd's that look professional and or for personal taste. Just adjust the light-scribe settings to best reflect your needs, darker higher quality prints = more time to print on label.

I like being able to print a CD label right on my optical drive but the options are pretty boring and it takes me 20 minutes to print the label and only about a minute to burn the files onto the disc.

I primarily use CD-R for audio, so I do not know how good the CD-ROM speed or data reliability is. For data, I always use DVD-R.

Pros: Ihave burned CD's for years. I havent really stuck with any one product, but Verbatim is definately one of my favorites. You can semi abuse these CDRs and not have too much problems. I make CDs for my family who are careless with their CDs I make them (they think I am a DVD and CD burning factory) and I have seen ice skating rink scratches on many of Verbatim DVD and CDR's, so far really really good!! CD's now are pretty cheap so as long as the CD you burn isnt an original, by all means burn away.Cons: None, these particular brand smell great lol. The top of the CDR has a nice texture, and the CDRs feel and look thicker than most other CDRs.Ihave burned CD's for years. I burn all of my DVDs at 8x, and I burn my CDs at either 8 or 16x. I only burn at top speed if I am going to make a disposable CD for whatever reason, fixing someone's computer, or making a quick music mix or whatever. But if you plan to burn and keep information in the long term, by all means burn at a 8x-16x rate. A lower speed helps your hard drive, CD/DVD drive and the laser on the drive alive more.

I have burned about 350 discs since I bought this about 11/2 months back. Making copies of all of my record collection, and scribing the picture of the album onto the disc, and have not had a single failure. Labels look fantistic. COLOR. These 'standard' goldish-color disks are about the same as any other 'standard' LightScribe disk: ugly and dull looking. Depending on the image, can be hard to read. (Still, cost is a factor!) Got these as part of a LightScribe CD-R and DVD-R combo pack.

A FEW TIPS:

TO INCREASE CONTRAST: Burn the same image again - a few more times, if needed - and you'll probably get better results than a single pass. Burning too many times might degrade the overall image. Experiment a bit with your particular burner.

LONG BURN TIMES. Long burn times for the LightScribe image is (usually) a limitation of the LightScribe technology itself, NOT the burner or the disks. It will typically take 15-20 minutes for each LightScribe burn.
