Pros: Hub Printable is great for Epson "R" series inkjets or other printers that can print directly onto a disc. Good media with low rate of coasters. I have nto tested for long term data integrity but others have said it is good.
Cons: The white printable surface is not as smooth as Ridata brand discs. It feels a bit rough in comparrison. Wish they would make it more like a smooth matte finish so the prints would look better. It's not a problem if you are just printing text or simple graphics, but it makes a big difference if you are printing photos or more complex graphics.

Pros: Verbatim is highly recognized by many DVD-ROM manufactures for its high standard in quality and reliability. They cost a little more but are worth the difference if quality is a factor for you. I love the fact that the labels are profit from the factory and come ready to print. I have been through 4 top of the line burners and at least a 2000 blank DVD+R recordable media and Verbatim rarely burns a coaster. Even then it is most likely to be due to software or hardware failure than to a defective disk.

Pros: These are top of the line discs regardless of the low price. They are the "real thing" - media code MCC004 (Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation). DVD+R results in excellent burns consistently with my BenQ DW1640 drive + BSLB firmware. Just be sure to set booktype to DVD-ROM and you get compatibility across multiple drives. (in linux this may be done via dvd+rw-booktype or if using nero in windows in the device options settings.) Works fine in my BenQ drive and also in my powerbook pismo drive.
Cons: that 'new dvd media' smell when you first open the packaging! :)

Do not be fooled into going with whatever media has a major brand name stamped on it.. ALL major brands outsource their media production ... one of the best price/quality you can aim for in cd/dvd media is MCC. These are the guys keeping the quality media

-No failed burns yet! -More expensive than some brands. I have ended up with anywhere from 30-60% coasters with some media, so I guess the price premium for top quality disks (these are some of the best out there for consumer DVD+R) really isn't so bad? it actually can save money!

I have burned over 200 of these disks. I have never had bad burns due to disk problems. I admit they happen, but it has always been my fault. None - I Love these DVD's. Bad burns should not always point to the media used. Most of the time it's the equipment used to read the disc after the burn that is the problem. Old DVD players are most often the problem. Other issues can be traced back to user error or bad DVD burners.

Good burns sticky. the disks stick together a little... also they seem to leach the sharpie I label a lot of burns with out, so it looks a -little- fuzzy after a few days. Previous review is correct, mine did not actually -come- sticky, but both spindles got sticky after a while.. and if they are coming like that now, you definitely wouldn't want to feed them to a duplicator like that. overall i'm quite happy with them, no failed burns of course, etc etc... just watch out for the sticky thing.

Pros: Low failure rate, 16x speed, printable.
Cons: The DVDs I got were a little bit stuck to each other. I had to separate them all manually before putting them in a duplicator. Once separated they were fine but if they weren't manually separated, they could cause the duplicator to sometimes pick up more than one disc at a time which is a problem.

I don't know if it was just my batch that they were sticking or if that is typical of these. I did go through 4-5 cake boxes of them, though, and they all seemed about the same.

My ink dries on these as quickly as it does w/ Memorex & Samsung printables. No smears or quality issues. If the Epson R300 series aren't doing a good job, it's Epson's new ink formulation & not this media. Maybe try off-brand ink & see what happens? I go back & forth between Epson brand & meritline generic ink & can't tell the difference with the R220.

Pros: Verbatim has designed their disc with a layer of material which is heat resistant. This means that as the player heats up the disc doesn't warp. Result..NO pixels, jerks or stopping. The discs play smooth. The printable disc could double as the original. The 16x backs up a movie in about 10 minutes total using my Plextor 716.
Cons: There are no cons that I can report
