Pros: works by connecting 1 usb keyboard/mouse to 2 computers
Cons: does not do keyboard and mouse emulation. Switching disconnects the usb keyboard and mouse from the previous system and connects it to the next system. Just as if you removed the usb connectors yourself. I should have read more into the product before purchase.
Does not do keyboard and mouse emulation. I should have read more of the reviews to see this. If you want emulation, you will need the GCS632U model.
Not going to dock any eggs off because it does what it says it does, but doesn't do what I wanted it to do.

    Pros: It works.
Connects two PCs using VGA and USB hookups.
Cons: Only supports VGA and USB connections.
The switch button itself is okay but the wire connecting to it feels a little flimsy.
The primary cables to connect the PCs are a bit stiff when working with them. This makes it hard to fit the "hub" of the switch in a place where I can see the telltale lights.
If you switch between PCs repeatedly you need to take 30-60 seconds between switches else the device won't swap outputs and appear to have ignored the button press.

    Pros: Inexpensive and compact
Cons: Does not provide keyboard and mouse emulation to inactive connection/system. The behavior is like the old A/B switches. When switched to A, there's no connection what so ever for B. If the inactive system is booted when not selected, the newly booted system errors during post stating no keyboard or mouse found.

When switched to A, there's no connection what so ever for B. If the inactive system is booted when not selected, the newly booted system errors during post stating no keyboard or mouse found. I'm using this between a Windows 7 and RedHat 5.5 system. Both systems play nice with this KVM and I could adjust the BIOS in both boxes to not error and stop during POST when the keyboard and mouse are't present. This KVM is likely going to cause some novice users trouble due to the lack of emulation for both connections/systems.

Pros: The remote-wired button for controlling the switch is nice.
Cons: The video switching worked, but I still had a little ghosting at 1920x1200.
But the real show stopper was that it didn't successfully get the mouse or keyboard connected to either computer. One one computer the mouse worked, but the keyboard didn't properly work (missed key-up events, etc.) On the other computer, it was though neither the mouse nor keyboard was connected at all.

Works well, cheap, small, works with laptop and desktop on a wide screen, easy installation no drivers needed Cables too short, sometimes keyboard lags, display fuzzy here and there For this price it's pretty good. Does the job well, but the cables are definitely too short (around 3' each) plus the keyboard typing lags. Also the display on the the screen isn't as clear as it would be via direct vga connection.

If you have a couple of servers or PC's you want on the same monitor, and different people use them all the time then this is really a good choice. The remote switch can be put in an obvious place and be labeled for ease of use. People don't always read notes on keyboards it seems. This is a really cheap way to separate the KVM control from the keyboard and it works great.
This is a small KVM, but it has the same quality we have come to rely on from all the IOGear switches we use. One thing you don't want is a server that won't respond to the keyboard, and IOGear keeps the USB working. I work at a plant, and we use all kinds of IOGear KVMs.

DETAILS: I have two systems, trying to drive monitor at 1680x1050 60Hz or so. Straight-through VGA cable gives a fine, stable image. The images through the VGA switch give a slight flicker, sometimes wobble on one system. Oddly, however, when I simply boot up Ubuntu Linux on one system (dual boot), the image is fine, adjusted by Linux to 53Hz, which is ok for me. I'd like to set my Windows nvidia parameters to give the Ubuntu characteristics. Great product, but for this. Problem disappears at lower resolutions.

Works great. One tip: Make sure to first install the drivers for the keyboard and mouse independently on the two machines before installing the KVM switch. I tried to install the KVM switch first and for some reason XP wouldn t automatically install the drivers. I had to plug the keyboard and mouse into both PCs first to install and recognize the drivers then install the KVM. The remote button for switching is fantastic.

Pros: Works as advertised. The best part is the cable for the switch. I can place it in a small corner of the desk hidden. Not like the huge switchboxes at work.
Cons: Nothing. I think once I had to switch back and forth a couple of times, but that hasn't happened since.

Pros: I love that this has the separate switch. I can hide the KVM and still have the little switch on my LCD. It works just as advertised.
Cons: Cables are a bit short, but the length is listed in the specs. I can't blame the product when I didn't fully read the information provided.

Pros: This KVM is small, inexpensive, and compact. Includes a nice remote with a long cord to allow placing anywhere on your desk.
Cons: Works great except has significant ghosting that could not be fixed by automatically or manually adjusting my 17" LCD.

Pros: Fast switching between systems, separate clicker for fast switching, USB switching works fine (I don't use the VGA, so I can't comment)
Cons: Wires don't detach from console (makes it feel cluttered since I don't use the VGA, I already have more than enough wires...)

This is my first KVM. I use it to switch between my makeshift server and main desktop. I searched though others and many people said they weren't letting their hardware function properly, or were laggy. Seeing as this was to be used on my main desktop, it couldn't be laggy. I found this one with 3 good reviews and a good price and bought it. No regrets and no lag.

Pros: This unit works excellent, never a problem. I switch between computers any time at all with no problems. The remote button is nice.
Cons: The included VGA and USB cords are barely long enough. I would prefer they were at least 3 ft. longer so I had some to play with.

Pros: Price is awesome. Great IOGEAR quality and just as good as KVM's costing 3 or 4 times as much. Have it connected between a Windows and Linux box and it switches over flawlessly and quickly (no meaningful lag, unlike other USB KVM's I've heard about).
Cons: No DVI-D or Audio, but for the price, those omissions are fine by me. Don't really do anything audio-related with the Linux box anyway.
