Best switch I have tried yet. Easy to set up, plugged in 3 servers, they all worked perfectly. Didn't have to shut down the servers to get the KVM to recognize them. Ordered the rack mount kit, fits in the rack nice, neat and compact.

I purchased this to replace a Belkin that failed. My desktops would not recognize the Belkin when booting, and would always hang at the BIOS unless I selected another device. The Starview does not have this problem. The Belkin would always take about 30 seconds to detect when selecting another workstation. The Starview takes about 1 second. I like the metal construction. This is a heavy, solidly built, unit.
My only complaint is my keyboard has a built in 2 port USB HUB. The Starview would not initialize the keyboard with only 2 computers connected. I had to dig up a 5 volt power supply to resolve the problem. I found an old Netgear supply that worked. Presumably, if you have 4 computers connected, it will derive enough power.

Pros: Inexpensive for KVM that switches USB devices and provides USB hub. Fully supports the higher-than-average screen resolutions I use (other KVM's I've tried did not).
Cons: Doesn't retain full screen resolution for "offline" PC when switching control to another PC. When controlling one PC, if another connected PC performs any operation (reboot, etc.) that would cause it to sense its connected monitor's resolution, I often find it's adopted the wrong resolution when I switch back to it.

Bought several KVMs to replace a PS2 mouse/keyboard KVM when I changed to all USB gear. This was the only one that supported my 1680x1050 monitor as cleanly as if it were directly-connected to the PC.
Otherwise, I find monitor resolution issues and USB delays that occur when switching frustrating.

Pros: Works as advertised. Great USB/Monitor switch. I would purchase another one of these without thinking twice. No ghosting or anything like my older PS/2 KVM.
Cons: Some devices will require you to order the power adapter (should be included).
