Pros: Please disregard my star rating, I just did not want to bring the product down unfairly as I have not owned this.
However, I wanted to note that (in general) 62.5 micron fiber cable always goes 220 meters. New egg's description may be wrong, but the description on the products homepage is correct (and i suspect the box) and really, in general, this is the accepted distance for 1gbit performance so Sciguy is wiggity wack. Okay, just clearing that up.

Pros: Inexpensive media converter for cheap fiber connection.
    Cons: None
Inexpensive media converter for cheap fiber connection. None sciguy's review is incorrect. The media converter never lists 62.5?m as being capable of 550m of 1000BASE-SX, The printed specifications on the box say "1000Base-SX: 50/125?m Multi-Mode Fiber Optic Cable, Up to 550m. 62.5/125?m Multi-Mode Fiber Optic Cable, Up to 220m."

    Pros: They look nice
Cons: The specs on the box & website said up to 550m, but only after ordering a pair and trying them did I come across a techincal PDF from TrendNet's website saying that the 62.5 fiber cable only goes 200m (that puts me about 150m short at least). The 50/125 fiber cable will go 550m.

Pros: Easy to install, plug in and play. Just make sure you plug in the correct fiber side first ie Rx and Tx. It took a few times of pluging in and unplugging to get it to come up.
Cons: I does not respond to a loop back. Some Gbic will give you a link light when you run a loop back test. This did not. Really not a con but it helps when your trying to trouble shoot.

Pros: Runs like it should and didn't cost a lot like other brands. Runs cooler than most.
Cons: Doesn't fit in our transion networks rack mount unit.
