Pros: Small; perfect for home networks that are running out of wired ports, which is getting easier to do all the time.
Cons: As others have mentioned, attached cables tend to cause unit to move--I solved with velcro strips on bottom front and back. Not 1000Mbps, but c'mon--look at the price!

Bought this as part of a home theater project. I only have one active cable jack in my house (office) and needed to run a hard wired RJ45 downstairs to stream tv/movies (didn't want to rely on wireless). I ran a cable downstairs straight from my wireless router. This switch is compact and requires no setup other than plugging in cables. So far, my connection is fast and I have no connection issues.

I use this switch for my AV equipment plus a notebook in the living room. Wired connection is faster than WiFi so I prefer wires. Because my router has no more free outlets I decided to add this device to my mini network. Through the single ethernet cable extension to the living room I can connect a receiver, TV and a notebook to the internet with an extra outlet should I need it. This little device works flawlessly in the background. I do not even know it is there.

Pros: I have used this non-stop for the last 9 months without having the slightest glitch. I've used it hard with uTorrent, but it hasn't missed ever a beat. Speakeasy still reports my inet download speed as 18.6 MBs (20 Mbit FiOS).
Cons: It's so small and light that the cords tend to pull it around. I'm about to Superglue it to my wall next to my router. But, I then won't be able to see any of the status LEDs while I'm seated, unlike my router whose LEDs were positioned intelligently right on the front-to-top edge of its case.
