TRENDnet TE100-S5 5-port Fast Ethernet Switch (TE100-S5)

This product does exactly what it says. It is not the best switch made, but for the price it's a great bargain.

I've owned a few TRENDnets and all have worked as expected, unfortunately this one didn't work and I had to return it. Was an easy return even with Ship to Store.

Pros: Worked right out of the box. Small, and portable. Pros: Great price, small size and works well. I have it connect from my Aliant FiberOp router, running a HDTV set top box and an ASUS Oplay media player. Bought this as part of a home theater project. I only have one active cable jack in my house (office) and needed to run a hard wired RJ45 downstairs to stream tv/movies (didn't want to rely on wireless). I ran a cable downstairs straight from my wireless router. This switch is compact and requires no setup other than plugging in cables. So far, my connection is fast and I have no connection issues.

Good price, no setup required. Used it to split my ethernet signal to my blue ray and directv box. Streams great!

I use this switch for my AV equipment plus a notebook in the living room. Wired connection is faster than WiFi so I prefer wires. Because my router has no more free outlets I decided to add this device to my mini network. Through the single ethernet cable extension to the living room I can connect a receiver, TV and a notebook to the internet with an extra outlet should I need it. This little device works flawlessly in the background. I do not even know it is there.

Nothing fancy or special about this unit, but it works. I have this unit connected to a wireless bridge running 3 PC's with no problems for almost a year now.

Nothing special just a product that works as it suppose to on your network. Recommended product for the price. If you want more look elsewhere but if you simply what a low cost functional switch this is a good choice.
