Pros: No separate power supply, although this is arguably a con (see other thoughts). Same with cheap.
Works fine with Windows (*) ? I'm using it right now.
Cons: Although the product is advertised as working with Linux, there are known, unresolved issues (just search for "couldn't find an input interrupt endpoint") that affect usage with various Linux distros.
Usually, this error is benign (if annoying). But I have also experienced, as others have reported, situations requiring a complete shutdown, where the unit fails to be recognized ? again, only on Linux (Debian 6.0.0 with kernel 2.6.32-5).

Price. Video looks good. Does a great job of sharing a single k/v/m between multiple PC's. Port layout is a little awkward. No way to choose which port is active via keyboard shortcuts (eg. ctrl ctrl port#) - only cycles through "hot" ports. It would be nice if all the ports were on one side of the device or another because I had to hang this thing on a wall to get the cables out of my way. Also, it would be great if it had its own external power so I could hot key directly to the port I wanted instead of cycling through only the ports connected to powered on devices. That said, this is still a great device for the price and I don?t have any functional complaints, only the aforementioned operational issues.

Cheap, cables are provided, buttons work well Cables on all sides, Can take a few moments for keyboard/mouse to click in, had some strange issues with VMWare Great KVM for the price. I like the separate buttons for each device instead of one for cycling through them. After switching it can take some time for the mouse and keyboard to start working, but not all the time. The biggest inconvenience is the cords come from all sides. That is a small issue still, but something to consider. I also had VMWare cause problems with it. It would make it cycle to the next device whenever I opened a VMware machine. Don't know if this is typical or not.

Cons: 1. (already posted in another review) The hot key cycle will stop at any computer that is connected, whether powered up or not. If that computer is not powered up, then the keyboard loses power and the hot key stop working. User must manually select a working computer from this KVM's own buttons.
    2. (related to #1) If user disconnects a computer (such as undocking a laptop) while it is selected by the this KVM, then same "loses power and hot key dies" situation occurs.
    3. This KVM does not simulate a keyboard/mouse USB connection for the non-selected computers. So each time the KVM switches to another computer, that computer then must restart the keyboard/mouse driver (as if the Kbd/Ms) was was unplugged and plugged in all over again.
    4. (already in another review) Cables route to all 4 sides. Does not make for clean, tidy desktop.

Pros: I bought the PS2 version of this Trendnet kvm switch 2 or 3 years ago and it has been reliably doing its job since. I usually have used only 2 ports. The price for this is about half of what I recall paying. I occasionally pull out the spare cable sets to use the video cables independently
Cons: As someone pointed out, the wire arrangement can be awkward, especially when you have more than 2 computers hooked up. I keep mine on a bottom shelf next to the cpu.

    * Specialized cables merge VGA and USB onto one plug A power cycle wouldn't be so bad, if not for the fact that this thing is USB powered, so to do so you have to unplug all connected computers. Sometimes goes into a permanent blinking mode - fails to work, needs to be rebooted by disconnecting all USB cables.

Unfortunately, in my case the rebate centre pretended they didn't get my USB code, so I didn't get a rebate and ended up paying $60. It ain't worth $60.

Pros: Cheap, and TrendNet usually makes good equipment.
Cons: Unfortunately, this isn't one of their better products.
    a) There is no way to seek randomly using the hot-keys, only linearly.
    b) If you have one computer on 1 and another on 4, you can only hot-key from 4 to 1, not 1 to 4.
    c) Hooked it up to one computer/monitor and it lost the leftmost quarter of the display until the system was rebooted.

    Pros: Straightforward setup
Cons: Video quality was poor; print on screen was smudgy on a 1280x1024 LCD screen. Neither hot-key sequence nor switching software works for Mac OS. Thus the switch and whole pile of cable have to be on on your desktop and within arms reach to switch computers.

Pros: The pros are that it works, and pretty well for the cost. Not a "high end" product, but if you really want a USB KVM, this is a great place to start. ( I happen to own a G15 KB, and really wanted to keep my sys performance stats on the LCD...)
Cons: Like most ppl have mentioned, it's not "desktop friendly", awkward cable setup, like an ungainly octopus with its connections coming out in all directions. And I would mention if you are using a nice vidcard, you will get signal loss using VGA, if you happen to be hooking up a nice LCD. DVI KVMs are out there, but not cheap.

Great product! After struggling unsuccessfully with a comparable Belkin device, I had this working perectly in 10 minutes. All 4 OSs are XP. The recognition delay is only a second or two. Great price for a KVM that actually works AND includes all cables!

Strengths:Includes 4 sets of integrated cables that only use 1 USB port on the pc, hot key and button switching ... Weaknesses:Hot key switching is scan only and not…

Pros: It actually works. My previous experience has been with Belkin KVM's, which have been nothing but problems. I needed a 4 port USB that would work with Windows and Linux and this one does it.
Cons: No direct addressing from the keyboard. You can't switch directly to a machine, only to the next. Direct addressing requires using the switch on the KVM.
Also, it doesn't seem to keep the USB connection active on Windows, so when I switch back it will take 5 or 10 seconds for my keyboard and mouse to become active again.

I don't like the lack of direct addressing or dropping the mouse and keyboard. Previously I've had to use a mouse for each machine and only switch the video and keyboard.

Pros: Works great switching between my XP/Linux dual boot laptop, and my 2 XP desktops. the hot heys work pretty well, almost better than the buttons on the top.
Cons: For some reason the Mac G3 doesn't recognize the KVM as a viable video source(it gives me a shell instead of the regular OS) as one reviewer noted already.

The other reviewer that could not get it to work with his G3 was using OS9, I'm using OSX 10.3.9, so now I think that it might be hardware related.

Pros: KVM ships with cables, works well with Linux, lowcost, no problems running 1600x1200 in Tru color mode. I like the hot-key capability. At suggestion of TrendNet rep, I am using undocumented to hotkey from system to system. (The standard hotkey does not seem to work properly in Linux).
Cons: Would prefer to see all connectors for the 4 systems on a single side of the KVM. Currently, connectors for systems 1 and 2 are on one side (long side), connector for system 3 is on one short side, and connector for system 4 is on the other short side. This makes for a bulky setup on the desktop.

Pros: Worked great right out of the box, XP desktop, XP laptop, Fedora.
Cons: Slight latency recognizing mouse after switch. Have not been able to figure out how to use hot keys yet. Would have liked a way to mount it to something like the side of my desk.
