May 15, 2011 Disney Dad says:
easy process from start to finish. i was going to disney with the famliy and needed some more memory on my camera (for both pictures and video) this 16gb was more than enough for us, held all the pictures and short movies of the kids on rides. (i upgraded from a 4gb) i had never heard of the transcend brand, but feel that B&H would only carry quality products.

I use this in my Canon 60d, and as flash drive for video. It is fast, reliable and reasonably priced. I have never had a problem with it. I would rather have two 16gb cards, than a 32gb card in case you accidentally format one. 16gb seems like the perfect size.
    May 12, 2011 Anonymous says:
Pros: Okay performance for the price.
Cons: Not a class 10, at least what constitutes one these days. Also died after 3 months.

Pros: Upgraded from a Class 4 Lexar 16GB card to this one. Previously I could record for approximately 3:15 before the card buffer would fill up. Now I can record the full 12 minutes at full resolution (4GB clip, maximum for this camera) with no buffer issues.
Haven't done much photography with it, but it kept up easily with my day at the zoo.

    April 6, 2011 Revkellytodd says:
On 12-08-2010 I gave this card a great review, however, since that time, I have had some issues with it when recording videos. It will stop recoding when it has a buffer problem. If you only want this card for Raw images, then all is well, but if you intend to use if for video, then think twice and consider the Sandisk extreme or Extreme pro cards. cost more? sure. give better service? you bet! the sandisk cards will allow you get and view what you shot. It all depends on what you want the card to do. All mentioned cards here are class 10, but the Sandisk cards have transfer speeds of 30mb/s and 45mb/s respecfully but the best that I can tell, the transcend cards are about 20mb/s and this really makes a difference when it comes to video.

Cheap, fast & it works. I bought this for the price, just another to add to the collection of SD cards. I prefer using 8GBs rather than 16-32 because it's easier to sort out photos that way. This holds about 530 raw files; enough for a small day. I would definitely recommend it!

I have been using this card for about 2 months now. Probably shot about a 1000 photos so far with no issues. It is used mostly on a Nikon D7000. I can get off about 10-12 shots on continuous high before it starts to slow down considerably. I don't shoot continuous that often so it is not an issue for me. So far so good.

    March 18, 2011 SilverTree says:
I purchased this as part of a B&H Zoom H4n kit. It's a 4 channel hand-held audio recorder. It has the data speed to record 4 channels of 44.1/16 uncompressed audio (granted that is only ~350 KB/s, so a Class 2 card would be sufficient). I get about 15-18 MB/s reading and 11-13 MB/s writing through the Zoom recorder over USB 2.0. When transferring through my SD card reader I get the same speeds. Can't speak to durability because I've only had it 2 days. Hope it lasts!

I bought this card for my nikon d7000. Its a good price for a faster card, but it's a terrible class 10 card compared to higher quality cards. At 6 fps I was able to fire off 5 shots in raw and about 20 shots in fine jpeg before the card bogged down. I haven't tested it's video performance yet, but a friend said his canon t2i could only go for about 20 seconds before stopping. For comparison, my class 4 SanDisk ultra performs better.

Out classes my PNY (c4)card. Using with T2i. Shooting raw I was only getting 5 frames continuos and it took about 16-18s to clear the buffer. This card gives me 6 frames(spec) til buffer full and about 7-10s to clear buffer. No issues with HD vid @ 60 fps. It transfers files to my iMac 27 a lot faster than the PNY. I read this card may not write to c10 spec but it costs less than many c6 cards which canon calls for in the T2i. Price performance ? Iwill be getting another. If u use a card reader make sure it support SDHC Just found out my card reader that I use with MacBook Pro is not SDHC compatible

Pros: Price was right, BUT..... I get a LOT of errors in the application where I'm using them.
Cons: I bought these to use in a Sony PMW-EX1 HD video camera. I've been using Transcend 16gb cards for years with only one failure and shooting a LOT of video. I have a couple of thousand hours on the camera. For reasons unknown these 'faster' cards keep having errors. I thought it was the SDHC adapters but the manufacturer assures me they've been tested and used and should work in their adapter. Guess I'll stick with the class 6 cards and try these in a Panasonic HDC-TM700k to see how they do there.

This card seems to work fine for digital stills and lower quality HD recording. I tired it in my Canon HD camcorder and it said this card is not supported in FXP high quality mode. I previously used a Transcend 8GB Class 6 in this same camcorder and it was fine in FXP mode. Makes me question the Class 10 rating on this card. Reviews on other sites have shown this card having lower than Class 10 speeds.

I purchased this card to be used as an external memory expansion to a digital photo frame. The capacity is a big plus because the internal photo frame memory only has 512 mb. This is a class 10 card gives a sufficiently high read speed for browsing/shuffling play for the photo frame. Overall I am satisfied with this product.

I was weary of trying another bargain SDHC card after having been burned by 6 other brands so-called class 10 cards, but this one came highly recommended. I can say that, so far, I have had no problems with the card, no buffer overrun errors, no dropped frames and it handles both the 720p and 1080p video on my 60D perfectly. Great value!

I bought a couple of these SDHC cards to use on a Nikon D7000. I've been using Transcend cards since 3 years ago and they haven't let me down. These cards are the most affordable option for class 10 cards without trading off reliability.
December 19, 2010 Schnickel Fritts says:
I bought the Transcend 8GB Class 10 card for my GoPro HD camera, which shoots both stills and video. The GoPro is used onboard in sports--especially skiing and motorsports photography. As a test, I have run the Go Pro in video mode using my Transcend 8GB Class 10 card on the dashboard of my car in my morning and afternoon commutes. Not once did the video playback skip, pause, or hesitate. That meant the card was able to receive video data reliably and continuously for 20-30 minutes at a time.

I got this on sale and for 12.00 it was practically a steal. I bought 2, just to be able to back up music, photos, and for quick transfers of files. Transcend provides a high quality product at a much more affordable price than it's primary competition. I would recommend this smaller capacity cards because I hear rumors the 32gb are subject to corruption. Either way, make sure to pull out your magnifying glass and register the serial number on the card with Transcend warranty. They'll replace it if anything goes wrong. (but remember the golden rule - backup, backup, backup)

I purchased this expressly for video work on a canon 550d. I had a 16gb class 8 from an older camera but sometimes the buffer on the 550d would fill up and the camera would automatically stop recording. Ever since I upgraded to the class 10 card I have yet to run into that problem and this is after two weeks of none stop use. I just received a 32gb class 10 as a gift and look forward to trying it out.

However, I was disappointed with the packaging, which lacks the small,convenient-to-carry plastic case that most memory cards come with. Pros: Good read speed for large file transfers - I get 14.9MB/s. Reads are significantly slower at 6.7MB/s.
For mixed files of 0.5MB to 3.6MB (typical photo file sizes perhaps) the read speed drops to 10.8MB/s and the write speed to 4.2MB/s
A similar RiData Class 10 card I bought at the same time is generally faster.
Another Class 10 PQi card I have is faster for large file transfers, but slower for smaller files.

Pros: Writes/Reads fast; Easy To Use; Great Value; Reliable Performance
Class-10 - what more can one ask for ? It's fast and it was cheap. I reserved giving it a 5-star rating because it's still new and it's my first time trying out the Transcend brand. I'd typically go for Kingston, Lexar, or SanDisk. But for the price, I couldn't resist trying it out.
The key is longevity. I've had previous makes that died within 3 months of use and others are still with me and being used. Yeah, I know - given the price, throwing it out after (say) 6 months of use still gets me a good ROI (Return on Investment). But hey - I may little but that should mean it can't last long.
Out of the box, it formatted without issues on my Nikon D5000 DSLR. I took a couple of shots (ok, so more like 250 pics) and downloaded them unto my laptop (USB 2.0 compliant) and voila -- the files moved blazingly fast.

This is used in a Kodak Z290 digital camera which in conjunction with the other products I bought have stopped the camera from green screening. I compared the cots of this card against all others I could find and Transcend was much cheaper by 40% and it is absolutely class 10 in write speed. I compared it to other class 10 cards and there was no measurable differences using human standards anyway. I have some Transcend cards from the time that a big Compact Flash card was 512 MB and they still work as new so I had no concerns with the quality and longevity of them. I recommend Transcend for value and equal quality.

Firstly, this is a budget SD card and it's not entirely fair for me to compare this to cards like Sandisk Extreme III, but I am a little disappointed at the performance of the card that you would come to expect from a class 10 card.
It can't capture continous shots on my T2i for long.. and the HD video recording sometimes stops before I intend to...
But overall, for the price (almost 1/3rd of the sandisk extreme III), it's a decent bargain card.

My T2i regularly develops some 'error' while recording in movie mode - 720p or 1080p. I bought this to use in my T2i and it seems fine for photos in jpeg or RAW - but I haven't done much serious burst-photo sessions. The main problem is recording video. Sometimes it takes 3+ mins and then sometimes within 20secs it develops and error.

I purchased this 8GB class 10 device for use with a Sony DSC-H55 camera, not knowing ahead of time which class SDHC was required at a minimum for shooting movies. As it turned out, class 4 was the minimum. Thus this SDHC device had more than enough speed to do the job. At the time of purchase, it also cost less than many 8GB class 2 SDHC memories. I haven't had it long enough to say anything about reliability, but previous Transcend memory devices I've bought haven't failed yet, so I expect this to to be reliable as well.

Pros: 16gb (16130244608 byte) storage, no corruption problems yet. 16MB/s read speed.
Cons: This device does not perform at the claimed 10MB/s write speed. Even with bulk, linear transfers, write speed caps at about 2.5-3MB/s, which is slower then my previous older, smaller, lower (class 6) rated card from a different manufacturer.

Pros: 4GB, Class10 capable. Cheap!! Works great with ready boost. Purchased a few for all my Win7 machines. Standard SDHC size, but hides nicely in the slot.
    Cons: None

Pros: Upon arrival, benchmarked at 17.0MB/s write and 19.9MB/s read... making it Class 15, rather than Class 10.
Nearly identical speed to the Patriot LX Class 10 card. Given the nearly identical price, considering that it might be the same chip repackaged for either of the two.
Used it on a trip to the Dominican Republic with my Nikon D90 and it worked flawlessly.
    Cons: none i have seen
