I have had this tray for at least 7 years and it has been wonderful not having my keyboard taking up room on my desk. I use it constantly Monday-Friday while at work and am just now starting to have problems with the tracks on the tray so I'm ordering another one. It works great.

Still working after seven years of service. Does not work with thick keyboards. The mouse pad is not at the same height level as the keyboard. No place to put the mouse when completely closed. The tray will allow the keyboard to side some. This is an okay product. I have owned one for seven years and the mouse pad is just starting to break down. It does not work with thicker keyboards because they stick up so much you can't close the shelf. My work around was to make shims to lower the shelf. I had to customize mine for mousing on the left. The mouse pad is too low compared to the height of the keyboard. My work around was to mount different height foam pads on my arm chair so I could use this keyboard and mouse without having arm fatigue and back pain. The mouse needs a place to go when you close the shelf unless you leave it open. I used a 17.5 inch keyboard so I was able to set the mouse on the shelf when I closed my computer down for the night and that way the mouse pad was collapsible with out leaving the mouse out to hang.

Fairly sturdy for an aftermarket keyboard tray. Remains out without a mechanical lock so it is easy to retract.

Cons: The only possible con is that you can't really use a keyboard with a built in palm rest, as the keyboard tray has one built-in. It still works, just not ideally. Would require a little hardware modification to remove the tray palm rest

With a normal rectangular keyboard, the tray works fine. The height of the tray can be customized for your particular circumstances and to accommodate keyboards that are taller than average, like some of the ergonomic keyboards.
I use a Microsoft Natural Keyboard, which is higher and deeper than a rectangular keyboard. The tray's design accommodates the height fine, but it does not accommodate the depth of the built-in hand rest of the keyboard. To allow the keyboard to fit, I had to use a dremel to cut out a section of the tray's built-in hand rest. Removing this material from the tray did not compromise the strength of the tray or lead to a lot of flex in the tray. The modified tray/keyboard combination works fine.
I like the design of the slide-out mouse platform, but its surface will not work with an optical

    April 18, 2009 Art says:
This Computer Tray saves desk space and keeps the keyboard out of the way, below the desk. The directions are easy and clear and it is easy to install needing only a screwdriver and a drill. It takes a second person to hold it until at least two screws are started. However, because our keyboard has a curved front, the tray is slightly smaller than we needed. If your keyboard is wider than 8 inches, it will not fit perfectly, although it will still work.
    April 6, 2009 Paul says:
Easy to install. Plastic, but reasonably sturdy. I didn t think I would use the mousepad extension, but it is reasonably spacious and convenient to use.

    Cons: Not Ergonomic; Uncomfortable
This keyboard tray is NOT ergonomic at all, as the mouse tray is much lower than the keyboard tray. It created some pain in my right shoulder. I need to get a new one and wish i would have returned it sooner.

Pros: Pretty sturdy, has a nice place to rest your hands, nice slide out place to put your wireless mouse.

    January 29, 2008 Richard says:
I bought this because I was having wrist and arm pain because I was typing on top of my computer desk. This lowered the keyboard to the right height and my pain is gone! However, my keyboard doesn t fit within the grooves of the holder (Microsoft Keyboard 6000), but I m still able to slide the drawer in and out without it getting hit. It s not really a big deal and should not be a deal breaker.
