Cons: To slow to be of any use to me whatsoever.

The unit can only be attached via the supplied cord, not connected directly into a USB contact. If you use a USB extension cord, the unit does not get enough power. You may plug it into a hub however. The slot for the Duo-stick is rather shallow so the stick extends out beyond the slot (be careful when inserting) There is no light on the card reader to let you know it is in operation (the most absent feature).

Pros: Relatively inexpensive. Has support for xD cards (which is becoming somewhat rare these days) if you need that.
Cons: The supplied USB cable is sub-standard. We bought 3 of these for the office, and all were exhibiting intermittent flakiness (reader would appear and disappear from the OS at random). I noticed that the cables seemed a bit flimsy, so I tried different cables; all of the problems went away. I slit one of the original cables open to have a look inside, and the cable is not shielded at all; the data pair is not even twisted.

Reads a multitude of different cards. It will handle virtually any media that a customer throws my way. A little slow on the transfer from a CF card (Sandisk Extreme IV 4.0GB). I bought this unit to replace my existing Sandisk SDDR-91 CF card reader because of it's ability to read other card types. Transferring the same Nikon RAW files my Sandisk took 1m 32s. This unit took 3m 46s. Looks like I will be keeping the old one around for CF cards.

One reviewer pointed out that they did not like the fact there was no activity light. Although I would normally agree, I didn't' even notice that it didn't have one until he stated it. Reason is because the software I use to download the images from my card tells me when tis done, so there is no need IMO.

Pros: Cheap, vast array of media card capability. Rubberized bottom coating for better "grip" on a surface.

This would be handy to confirm that a card has been inserted properly (green light constant "on") and blinking when reading or writing data. There are so many orientation possibilities (card insertion) that seeing the icon appear in "computer" drive listings is the best way to know it is inserted properly.
