Having a work laptop and a home desktop machine provided a challenge that this little until handled quite nicely. Pros: It's small & easy to put out of the way but still have access to swith between devices with the toggle button. Cons: Can't seem to get the hotkeys to work. Overall, an excellent purchase that saves the hassle & wasted space of dealing with extra, unneeded peripherals.

No complaints. Hooked it up and it works great just as advertised. The cables and connectors are all quality materials, and it switches easily with only a slight delay between systems. I highly recommend this model.

This product works exactly as advertised. The physical switch is a nice feature as well. One caveat, wireless input devices may have compatibility issues, but wired devices seem to work appropriately.

I bought a new Mac Mini, and bought this switch so that I could continue to use my Mac G4, while using the same monitor, keyboard, and mouse. It succeeds well in all of that. However, it does not recognize specific mouse button settings programmed on my Microsoft mouse. And connecting other USB peripherals (e.g. printers) via a 4 port hub plugged into the mouse port on the device did not work well, so I have to depend on the network to do that.

Pros: Sharing a monitor, keyboard and mouse between 2 computers is nice enough, but this product makes switching between my Mac and my PC a breeze!Cons: There seems to be a speaker hum that I cannot get rid of. Plug into KVM and I get a hum, plug in directly to separate computers, hum. Would get 5 stars if that was fixed. And yes there is a slight thump when switching systems if your speakers are plugged into this device, but not bad at all.Sharing a monitor, keyboard and mouse between 2 computers is nice enough, but this product makes switching between my Mac and my PC a breeze! The remote switch is simple and cool. Mac keyboard emulation is nice. Records monitor ID and fakes it when PC scans for hardware. Audio support is nice icing on the cake. DVI looks crystal clear. Main control box is cool to the touch. Cables are reasonable length. This much electronics seems like it should be a little cheaper after this long.

The user who said this product didn't work with his MacBook Pro stands to be corrected. It does work with Mac products, you just have to use an extension if your USB ports aren't right next to each other. I am using this unit to switch between a MBP with bluetooth mouse and a PPC G5 with USB mouse/keyboard and NEC LED monitor. The monitor is not digital--has the old style multi-prong plug, the MBP takes the mini-DVI plug. The monitor is plugged directly into the switch, and the MBP uses a mini-DVI adapter.I posted another review of this product where I said I couldn't get the speakers to switch. Well, user error. They switch just fine when they're plugged into the correct port, lol.

Pros: Works well out of the box. Cords are ample length for close computers. Multiple methods of switching KVM including hotkey commands. Solidly built. Allows for switching of speakers and additional USB devices. Priced well. Cons: Multiple cords extending from device are somewhat unsightly. PS/2 devices will require a PS/2 to USB converter to connect. Comments: This device performs exactly as advertised enabling the connection of two separate computers to one monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speaker system. The device features a corded control switch which is inconspicuously small and is equipped with rubber feet which keep it in place upon a desktop.

Pros: Price and capabilities. I don't think you'll find a less costly device that will handle DVI, audio, and USB KB/M as good as this device. I LOVE that little clicker to switch computers with. This is the best 80 bucks I've ever spent. It makes working on my 2 computers a joy, instead of a pain like it was before I got the IOGear device.Cons: It would be perfect if they could also put a small hub it it. Several years ago a DVI KVM was too expensive to consider since a VGA unit could be had for $50 or so. Finally came across this unit and thought I'd give it a try. Glad I did. I'm not doing anything fancy but I do play FPS games which tend to bring out the shortcomings of many KVM's in the past. This unit requires a USB keyboard so you may need a PS2 => USB adapter, same deal for the mouse as well. Pulled this guy out of the box, hooked it up, and never looked back.

I upgraded my KVM from a VGA to a DVI to take advantage of better video. This KVM surprised me with it's features. It retains resolution and USB connectivity. I can instantly switch between computers and not have the computer go through the device reconnection. It also offers several options for hotkeys and an external button. Best KVM I've seen and B&H has the best price.

The first boot with the KVM switch on both machines leaves them a little confused. It may take a reboot or two for them both to catch on. Pros: Well made device, pigtails for computer connection mean that you don't need extension cables. Sensible length for typical setups. Hardware switch with extension wire make switching between machines easy.Cons: Initial setup made slightly more confusing since the pigtails are not labeled '1' or '2', although this is only a minor problem on a 2-port KVM. Also, the case of the unit does not indicate which port is for keyboard and which is for mouse. Slightly increased noise on the audio line when used with headphones.Well made device, pigtails for computer connection mean that you don't need extension cables. Sensible length for typical setups.
