The IOGEAR USB 2.0 Booster Extension Cable uses active electronics to amplify the USB signal beyond the USB 2.0 specification of 15 feet. It does this with no loss of data integrity or signal quality. The cable has male and female USB type "A" connectors. The USB "A" connector is the rectangular shaped plug found on PC's, hubs, and many other host interfaces. The IOGEAR USB 2.0 Booster Extension Cable extends from the host and provides another female "A" connector for longer distance USB needs.

    Pros: I have had a problem with my Epson printer due to a long (20 ft through a hub) USB cable run. By moving the printer out of the equipment room closer, I was able to determine that the problem was due to the long cable.
    I found out about active USB cables (who knew?!), and tracked this down. Plug and play and no problems!

    Pros: For those situations where you've got to have it wired instead of wireless, this should do the trick. I used it to get a wired mouse hooked up and it did in fact work.

    Works as indicated. Price!!! I wish it was something like $19.99 insted of $34.99 I used this to put a hub under my coffee table for hooking up gaming controllers and headsets and other things as needed. I used a regular extension cable and it caused problems so I purchased this cable to hopefully avoid this issue and the cable worked as indicated.
