I looked at all the reviews and was going to go with a D-Link, but I liked the look of the Startech better. I had no problem setting it up. I have several other USB hubs, and by far this one is the fastest and nicest looking one I have. I was thinking of purchasing another just to get rid of the the other hub I have.

Died after 35 days. Just long enough to void a return. Perfect. It's only $20, but it's worth avoiding the aggravation to just pay more and get something that will work. This one doesn't.

Pros: 7 ports, powered, looks spiffy
Cons: After a little while, it will drop all connections when data is streamed through the hub. Hoping a manufacturer RMA comes through, and they have fixed the issues by now. If not, guess it goes into the "I wasted my money" pile.

Pros: Small footprint, lots of ports, including 3 on the back. Works without the power adapter.
Cons: With the power adapter plugged in, it delivers current back up to the motherboard!! I can remove the power cord from the PC and the PC won't power on, but the power button light stays lit and the HDD spins. Sometimes it spins at a normal speed with a quiet hum, sometimes it makes funny clicking noises. Regardless, the HDD always spins with this stupid hub's power adapter plugged in. It must be sending power back up the USB cable to my motherboard's USB header and who knows what else.

    Cons: None.
Used this powered hub in conjunction with an active USB cable to extend keyboard and mouse. Works flawlessly even with the backlit keyboard. None. It would be great if manufacturers of USB hubs would start producing some different mounting options, for example, I would like to afix this to the wall behind my recliner to help keep wires neat running to my keyboard and if I were able to mount this securely to the wall I wouldn't have to have my end table cluttered with cables.

    Pros: Small, decent price, black
Cons: Included cable is too short to run from my tower on the floor up to my desk surface. I had to use an extension cable to put the hub where I wanted it.
The hub slides around alot. I wish they would have included rubber feet to stick on the bottom of the case.
