The system is great. It s quiet, does not use much power. The IPMI interface is awesome. The COM redirection options are great. I use this as a router/firewall/vpn terminator using OpenBSD and I couldn t ask for more.

Pros: excellent mini server. Loaded server 2003 enterprise and works good and fast.Cons: See info for the riser card that I usedexcellent mini server. Loaded server 2003 enterprise and works good and fast. See info for the riser card that I used I found a riser card from Logicsupply.com Part number is PELX16-C11 - PCI Express (x16) Flexible Riser Card. Used this riser card to attach a Buffalo 3.0 usb adapter card. Works good. Good thing about buffalo was I used the driver disc to install the drivers for USB 3.0 card and had no problems. Just inserted the driver disc in 2003 enterprise server and clicked the install button and the drivers installed automatically. Did not need to search for the drivers. Happy camper. So may be if you want to create USB 3.0 ports on the server you should use Buffalo USB 3.0 pci card. Tested worked great.

Pros: Light and compact (around 10-12 lbs with 3.5" HDD); no worries at all about installing this on 2-post rails. Atom D510 is scary quick despite its reputation; Hyperthreading is a bonus! Indicator lights on the front are bright and easy to see. The board is laid out beautifully and installed to spec (sticker proudly announces that it is assembled in the USA). Connectors on the back are all solid; nothing feels cheap. Unit is quiet and runs cool. Available PS/2 connectors on back for you old-schoolers. Simple, easy-to-open chassis lid (5 screws) lifts off easily to give full access to the unit. No sharp edges or nasty surprises inside. Grated front and rear should allow for decent ventilation. Unit ships in manufacturer's carton, and is packed well (nearly surrounded by foam). Includes HDD mounting screws, Rack Screws and additional Motherboard mounting screws/standoffs (all in individually labeled bags; impressive). Manual is cleanly written and easy to understand.Cons: Only two external USB ports (a third is actually located on the top of the motherboard, useful when doing an OS install but not much use once the lid is back on). The integrated Matrox g200e video is a capable standard but is really showing its age. No driver disk included, although Win 2k8 seems to have included drivers for all of the hardware. Supermicro's site is not a joy to navigate.Light and compact (around 10-12 lbs with 3.5" HDD); no worries at all about installing this on 2-post rails. Atom

Curious if anyone else gets this SYS-5015A-PHF to boot on the Intel (or other SSD).
Reading about the "trim" option in OS needed for SSD to keep performing, it's perhaps ok it doesn't work yet. :
