This product performed as described. The Windows Installation Wizard however identified the printer that was being installed required a parallel connection and automatically connected it to a parallel port even though none exists on my PC! Fortunately one can over ride that default setting and choose a USB port for this cable to the printer.

I found that the cable worked fine. The price for the cable was much less than the price that our local electronics stores were charging but ... the shiping cost was pretty steep.

    Pros: works with Mac
Cons: didn't come with a free iPod
works with Mac didn't come with a free iPod More expensive than most, but the first one I bought (China direct) died after 1 month. This one has a warranty.

Pros: Have installed 3 or these to work with Win XP machines and have yet to have a problem
Cons: maybe could use a longer USB extension cord with the adapter. It is 6 feet as is and sometimes I have to add a USB extension cable

Pros: No problems at all. I used it to connect my XP laptop USB port with an old Apple LaserWriter Select parallel printer. Worked flawlessly.

I tried this converter with both Windows 2000 Pro and XP Pro, with my LaserJet 6MP. It is truly plug and play -- no software required. I had each PC talking to my laser printer in just a couple minutes. This is a great device for connecting a parallel printer to a PC that has no parallel port. Highly recommended.
