They provide a good number of outlets but only half are battery protected with the other half surge protected. If I was designing I would have put more battery protected outlets on the unit.

its a battery backup. obviously when the power goes out, it stays on. configured for silent mode and green energy... even though i don t need it often. i have it more for the line fluctuations than outages. it ll save me a headache on my media server and keep it from getting spiked.

The thing about backup batteries is...how do you know when AVR is kicking in or that the battery was used at all??? This one is the cheapest price battery that gives you an LCD screen so you can push a button and see!!! Thats why its a price point leader. True that you could simply plug in the USB cable and download/install software to tell you - but what if the device you are trying to protect doesn t have a USB port???

Works perfect. I bought it because my MAC kept on shutting down when my window AC unit compressor would turn on. This back-UPS prevents that from happening. Cheaper APC devises didn't accomplish this.

So far it has worked great, we have many power surges during the day and it does its job. The only thing I didn't like about it was that no where did it say that I was getting a refurbished one. It works and still has a warranty so that is the least of my worries. Good product for a small office. If you have it hooked up to protect your printers be sure to mute it or it will drive you bonkers.
