Pros: Reliable Performance; Quiet Operation; Adequate Power; Easy To SetupCons: Large FootprintI certainly got my money's worth w/ the original battery that came w/ my APC surge protector - lasted for 5 1/2 years and expect that the replacement battery should last as long as the original. Only downside, so far, is when I installed the replacement battery, it triggered something in my anti-virus software where I couldn't get on line as it viewed just trying to get on line as a virus threat. Finally got this glitch worked out after working w/ tech support for my antivirus program - it just took me 3 hours of being on hold waiting to talk to someone to figure out how to fix the problem.

It works perfectly. I like that it reduced the amount of waste that would be created if I had simply thrown away the old unit, which I wouldn t have done but I would have had to take it to the county waste disposal site for recycling appliances. There is free return postage for the old battery to be recycled which makes it relatively easy except that you have to take the box to a UPS store for pick up (there is additional charge for pick up from your house).

The battery was 3 years old and started to make a shrill sound when a power outage occurred. When checking the % charged, the software indicated 95%-97% making me think the battery was still good. Need a better "battery status" indicator that ID's "end of life". I now know they only last 3 years, but will forget 3 years from now..., or when 3 years are up.

I haven't lost any information on my computer since I got the APC backup. the battery is relatively inexpensive. It really lasts and gives you your money's worth.

In these difficult financial times, we chose to replace the batteries all of the battery backup units. All were purchased at the same time and the batteries were almost 4 years old. The decision to replace only the battery was based on cost alone. Replacement time for 40 units was about 2.5 hours. The batteries installed easily. The units now provide the time necessary to properly shut down the computer and monitor without loss of data. Using the battery replacement (and the convenient return procedure) allows for an environmentally correct solution to extend the life of the current units
