Pros: It connects two RJ45 cables to make one longer RJ45 cable, and it works just fine.Cons: Not free.It connects two RJ45 cables to make one longer RJ45 cable, and it works just fine. Not free. I'm not sure if some of the other reviewers who may have had problems keeping their cables connected with this coupler are having problems with their cables or not.Might be a good idea to give them a check, no?I also have no idea if this results in a lower signal pass-through (not using it on my setup, it was for a customer).

Pros: Connects two cables together (MtoM)
Extends cables that were cut before measuring (stupid)
Actually works at Gigabit speeds (although not rated for this)Cons: It surprises me that they keep making couplers that are not even built to cat5e specs. Then again I probably shouldn't be using one...Connects two cables together (MtoM)

It works and faster than expected. Total cable length is under 40ft and I am using cat6 with both cables.

Both had contact engagement issues prior to replacing plugs (see Cons above).

It serves me well when I need to extend a cable to another computer for repair or updates.
