Purchased because a brown out blew out original charger, at least it didn't hurt the camera it was attached to at the time. Set it and forget it plenty of battery for any event. Forget about getting up in the middle of the night to charge multiple packs on one charger. Great for back to back field days. Would be better if it charged both ports at the same time but for the money it makes me happy. My field monitor runs on the same batteries so it comes in handy that way too.

Pros It charges great and can charge two batteries at a time. Cons The Battery adapter for the camera, did not work.

I love that this is so efficient at charging two batteries. I love that you can wear the pack on your belt and have a longer recording time with your camera. But this unit will not power the camera if it is plugged into the wall. That's my only beef with it. It's sturdy and rugged for packing. It just isn't office use friendly, like when I want to capture my dv to my mac.

I have had two of them now, granted we are little harder on equipment than most people, but one completely stopped working and the other one's little tabs to hold the battery on it broke off. Other than that I really like the chargers.

A useful add-on which helps balance the nose heavy Xl1(s), the ability to charge two batteries at once (consecutively) is good if you have other things to do. Only weak point is mounting system, which can be knocked off the camera if one is careless.

I use this for summer camp videos on my XL-2 and it works great. It balances out the camera much better, even though it adds some weight. The mount is out of the way, and I never have to worry about running out of batteries for several hours of shooting. I really like being able to detach it quickly and plug it in and charge the batteries when I am not using it as well. The only thing that is a little bit difficult, is that you don't have a battery meter displayed on your viewfinder, so you have to check the battery levels separately on the pack. I have the camera in Porta Brace Body Armor, but if you don't, the cord to the pack could potentially get annoying. I am really happy with the product and would recommend it to anyone who owns an XL-2 and uses it for on the go shooting.
