Looks good, sounds great. The price is a little steep for the performance. It can play great at loud noises, but I really thought with air ports the bass wouldn't be so crackly. I read many reviews saying the base was great for these speakers, but with the knob slightly turned up on base, at higher volumes it does crackle. These would be perfect if the price was lower. Really not worth 150. If you don't want the clutter of a sub woofer, these lows, highs, and sound quality is great for 2.0 speakers.

Pros: Ok, by themselves they are OK. But I combined these two speakers with Cyber Acoustics CA-3602 30 Watts RMS 2.1 Flat Panel Design Speaker System
Item #: N82E16836150086 . I replaced the two smaller speakers that came with the CA-3602 with these T40's. WOW!! What an awesome sound!! It was well worth the money spent! I was literally blown away with the sound!!
Cons: These two by themselves sound pretty good but they really need a satellite bass speaker to complete the system.

I cannot figure out why Creative doesn't combine these with a remote bass. It makes or breaks the quality!

Pros: My goals were (a) to rid myself of computer-station clutter and the pops and bumps of inexpensive 2.1 systems and (b) to still have reasonable sound. Ignoring the bass, my adjustments yielded acceptable highs and mids given the price of the speakers. Still, the sound quality at these frequencies does not approximate any sort of "audiophile" level.
Cons: IMO, the speakers lack significant bass regardless of adjustments. No disrespect meant, but the prior reviews convinced me that the bass would be adequate for me given my goals. But, not!!! Given that your main goals are similar to mine and you can live without significant bass, I recommend the speakers given the price.

Pros: These are good speaker but, not for the price its currently at. The knobs at front such as base and treble knobs are a great unlike my bose companion 2 speaker which have volume only.
Cons: BASS! BASS! BASSSS? There is non.... compare to my $90 bose companion 2 speakers
These are huge speakers compare to my bose Campanion 2 (2x the size)
That silly light in front is awful
You will need your rubber gloves to adjust the volume(not kidding) The knobs are ultra smooth <---understatment
The genius that put that idea there is a complete idiot.

Pros: Great sounding, great looking pair of speakers. I've owned many expensive sound products in my life, and these perform up to the standard you could expect for the price and item type.
Cons: A bit large, but still slim enough to fit on a small desk.
Great sounding, great looking pair of speakers. I've owned many expensive sound products in my life, and these perform up to the standard you could expect for the price and item type. A bit large, but still slim enough to fit on a small desk. For people who have never owned a good pair of speakers or headphones before, these will absolutely perform well enough to allow you to hear all of your music in a brand new light.
Audiophiles won't find anything new or amazing here, but will still be satisfied enough to make these your primary desktop speaker.

Pros: Good looking speakers. The bezels are shiny and the drivers look good without their covers. As others have said, there's a lot of clarity and depth in the sound.
Cons: Sound-wise, I expected more for $140. The bass is adequate for PC listening, but it's a bit hollow. I've tried it with my 40" TV, and while the sound was BETTER than the normal TV speakers, bass was lacking and there was distortion at loud moments.

I've tried it with my 40" TV, and while the sound was BETTER than the normal TV speakers, bass was lacking and there was distortion at loud moments. The hard-wired cord that connects the two speakers is far too short. It's adequate if you have your speakers set on opposite sides of your screen, even with a dual-monitor setup. However, if you wanted to put the speakers more than 4 feet from each-other you would be out of luck.

Pros: Great, full, rich sound from computer speakers - they rival the 2.1 speaker set I had from creative that I bought a couple years back. The bonus? That there is no subwoofer under my desk anymore. Can control bass/ treble on the fly with the dials + covers if you don't like the look of yellow speaker cones.
Cons: Not extremely strong bass (no subwoofer), but decent enough (not a hardcore bass fan).

Pros: Outstanding pc speaker. Those looking for more performance out of a pc speaker had better look elsewhere, such as a pricey multimedia speaker. As a pc speaker I doubt you will find much more in a pc speaker that will deliver the highs and lows that these babies do for the price.
like I said, those looking for more performance, better open up their wallets and shop for a multimedia speaker.
Cons: None at this price level.

Pros: Great Sound - probably on par or better than my m-audio set.
Nice looking if you care about that.
Cons: Bigger than I expected. They dwarf my wife's 15.6" laptop I got these for. :)
I recommend you get a ruler and see...
External power brick. I wish they could have built this in to the speaker but then maybe that would have made them even bigger.

Pros: Finished appearance, good sound. Robust sound from speakers a bit large for a desk, more like bookshelf size. Quite tall. Smooth switches, not static generating like some other cheap computer speakers(my Altec-Lansings come to mind) Surprising bass

None so far. I have purchased several 2.1 and 5.1 systems over the years. In most cases, the bass module sounds horrible, and isn't worth using. This 2.0 system is the best sounding simple 2.0 speaker sysmtem (for PCs) that I've ever owned. Most of my bass-heavy house-mix CDs sound warm and fuzzy - just great. Aion sounds awesome on 'em. That's a big plus - because I'll be on Aion for many, many hours...

Pros: Sounds great. Haven't noticed any distortion with loud music or the common popping/crackling when turning on and off the speakers.
Cons: Had a few blemishes. The packaging doesn't seem like it's meant to be shipped. It also has less bass then I'm used to, but thats understandable being only a 2.0 system.

Small foot print, easy portability, attractive design, headphone jack , fairly good sound for general computing use. Distorts badly at higher volumes with demanding audio source. I'm not a gamer and don't need a lot of bass, so wanted to stay 2.0 and for most applications these speakers have sufficient bass response. But for $150 I figure I should be able to push the 2.0 audio envelope a bit. I'm also an older guy, so my audio demands are less intensive than a younger rocker. I'm not looking to rattle the windows. But attempting to play a piano jazz CD with treble and bass adjustments flat, anything over half volume distorted badly. Playing a DVD action movie sounded just fine. Streaming talk radio sounds OK. I will probably RMA these, but I haven't made up my mind until I try some other music CD evaluations.
