The CyberPower Systems CP1200AVR UPS offers advanced power protection in a sleek and rugged tower. Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) ensures that all your electronics are receiving clean and stable AC power. Designed for mid-level to upper-level computer systems, the CP1200AVR guards against surges/spikes, and also offers battery backup in the event of brownouts or total power loss. If your PC is unattended, PowerPanel PE Power Management software will automatically save and close open files and also shutdown the computer system in an intelligent and orderly manner. The CP1200AVR also has full dataline protection: RJ11/RJ45 (phone, fax, Ethernet, network, DSL) and RG-6 coax (DSS, cable modem, satellite, cable TV). The convenient tower designs allows for placement on the floor, inside a workstation cabinet, or directly on the desktop. Surge-Only outlets are perfect for the addition of peripherals such as monitors, printers, scanners, iPods, or CD/DVD players.

For the money a primo UPS. NO annoying beeping during outages,(Duh, like you don't know the power is out) doesn't seem to self test a LOT, like other brands do, thus slowly shortening the battery life unnecessarily.

Pros: Good run time. I usually give it 5 minutes to see if the power is coming back on, then shut down, but the longest I ever let it run after a power outage was about 15 minutes. That was with an AMD 64 X2 4400+, 2GB RAM, 2HD's, GeForce GTX 260 and a 22" LCD.
I have my system, cable modem and router plugged into the battery port.
Cons: It died a few months after the warranty expired.
I'm don't like the Power Panel software that you have to install if you want to monitor the UPS or have it shut down your computer. Other UPSes that I've used are detected by windows as a battery and you can do all of that without having to install special software.

I now own 3 of these. They work well. I have to leave machines running in my office and I need to use them when I'm away. My older UPSs were great unless the power failure was longer than their batteries lasted. In that case, a human being had to come and restart them after power was restored. Not so with these Cyberpower units: they restart themselves when power is restored. I like that, for obvious reasons.

These units saved all my AV equipment as well as my pc's. The unit themselves smoked but everthing of importance attached to them survived. JD

Price and performance are both good. None. Got this to keep a home server running when the power goes out. Got to use it several time so far. Has a strange smell as if something has been left on a hot iron for the first few days of heavy use, afterwise, with fair ventilation, it does ok.

The device itself is a good piece of equipment, definitely a smart addition for the money already invested in a good PC. However, the vendor of this product has not chosen to support SOHO computer owners who have moved to the stability of x64 windows operating systems. There isn t any support for Windows XP Professional 64-bit or Windows Vista x64. That makes me disappointed in the industry, including Microsoft, for not driving more adoptions of the x64 architectures now common by all PC makers and chip makers. To be fair, Cyberpower Systems is a small fish compared to another vendor who is letting products languish without x64 driver support. Hewlett-Packard is also following the path of x64 neglect....

Pros: * Plenty of power. Was able to run my Athlon X2 3800+, 3 hard drives, 19" LCD monitor, network hub and print server for about 30 minutes.
    * Monitor software showed amount of time remaining and gave options to 1) run as long as possible before shutting down or 2) start shutdown after a configurable number of minutes.
Cons: * Frequently switched to battery, up to several times per hour and in some cases several times per minute.
    * Buzzing noise from UPS and computer when running on battery.
    * Latest monitor software version was 0.9.3, and somewhat buggy. It frequently lost its USB connection to UPS. It regularly consumed 1-2% CPU time and ran two separate processes that consumed too much memory.
