works as advertized, and has enlightened me to the fact that my computer dosent draw as many watts as i think it does!Cons: Won't work with a laser printer on the battery backup side, but this is to be expected.
Has a strange smell as if something has been left on a hot iron for the first few days of heavy use, afterwise, with fair ventilation, it does ok.Kept my computer safe when the faulty wiring in our new dorm room kept shorting out!

* Monitor software showed amount of time remaining and gave options to 1) run as long as possible before shutting down or 2) start shutdown after a configurable number of minutes.Cons: * Frequently switched to battery, up to several times per hour and in some cases several times per minute.
* Buzzing noise from UPS and computer when running on battery.
* Latest monitor software version was 0.9.3, and somewhat buggy. It frequently lost its USB connection to UPS. It regularly consumed 1-2% CPU time and ran two separate processes that consumed too much memory.* Plenty of power. Was able to run my Athlon X2 3800+, 3 hard drives, 19" LCD monitor, network hub and print server for about 30 minutes.
