Description

The CyberPower Systems CP1500AVRT UPS offers advanced power protection in a sleek and rugged tower. Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) ensures that all your electronics are receiving clean and stable AC power. Designed for mid-level to upper-level computer systems, the CP1500AVRT guards against surges/spikes, and also offers battery backup in the event of brownouts or total power loss. If your PC is unattended, PowerPanel PE Power Management software will automatically save and close open files and also shutdown the computer system in an intelligent and orderly manner. The CP1500AVRT also has full dataline protection: RJ11/RJ45 (phone, fax, Ethernet, network, DSL) and RG-6 coax (DSS, cable modem, satellite, cable TV). The convenient tower designs allows for placement on the floor, inside a workstation cabinet, or directly on the desktop. Surge-Only outlets are perfect for the addition of peripherals such as monitors, printers, scanners, iIPods, or CD/DVD players.

Pros: Compact, lots of outlets, easy to read display, easy to use software and easy set up. Long battery life for saving work and shutting down the computer, about 25 minutes run time for my tower and monitor. Your results will vary.
Cons: Not any to speak of, after 1 month of use it's working perfectly.
If you need a back up power supply and would like it to last more than 2 minutes of run time then this is a good choice without breaking the bank.

The apparent inability to disable the hibernation warning on startup if it's not enabled. I live in Williamsburg Va. we lose power way to much. That's why our computer room has a generator as big as a doublewide.

Works great. I've been using it for over 6 months now and it has prevented problems from a number of power spikes and brown outs and it kept the computer and two monitors running during a 10 minute blackout a few weeks ago. None. The summary feature in the software is pretty interesting because it logs all power related activity and I never realized how variable my power is. I should of gotten a good UPS a long time ago.

I'd rather something a little less pretty with far better logging capabilities and config options. I'm an Electronice Engineer. I have owned 5 CyberPower UPS over the last 6 years. I have only had one fail (batteries bad) just before the 3yr mark, I returned it to CyberPower for about $12 shipping and they put new batteries in it that kept it going another 3 years. I had NO problems with tech support. I'd love to see the serial port scrapped for ethernet and a web interface. :)

Long lasting power supply. Program works well. Easy to set up. Pretty heavy, not as many powered outlets as I would like. But neither is too bad. Powers a 550W power supply and a 22" CRT monitor for a little under 20 minutes. It will have no problem with even the biggest LCD because they use so much less power than CRT monitors.

Pros: Got this with new PC parts (500W PS, Intel Core2Duo 2.4, 3 HDs) and I run it with dual 19" flat panel monitors. This thing runs great and has power to spare. We had power outage last week for 30 minutes while I was out and my PC kept running the whole time. Estimated up time right now is 35 minutes. Performance well worth the price
Cons: I discovered the included PowerPanel monitor software appears to have a memory leak (found other refs online to same problem). I leave the PC up week after week, and over time the memory usage continues to climb. i.e. I've had the computer on for ~2 weeks, and the PPEUser.exe process currently has 118MB claimed and a VM size of 198MB. I usually shut it off with TaskMgr because you don't actually need it running if you don't want.
