Tested the UPS with up to 75% load. Works great when power is flickered and when power shuts off completely. About 3-4 minutes of up time when load is 75%. About 10-12 minutes when load is 40%. Great for power flickers or if your breaker goes out and you need to run and switch it back on really quick. Below is a break down of each component that I used and its corresponding load on the UPS. Desktop Power Specs: Intel Quad Core Q9450, NVIDIA 8800GT, 4 Hard drives - 40% load when CPU is idle / web browsing - 55% load when playing Starcraft II on High Settings - 22 Wide screen monitor 10% load - Cheap Dual core 15.4 laptop 10% load

I ve used APC for years and when my APC Back UPS RS 800 died I decided to give the competition a try. This was well rated, had 50 VA more, and was cheaper than a new APC. My 800 VA APC would run my 22 LCD monitor and computer for 25 minutes when new and with 4 year old failing batteries can run it for 8. This new unit overloaded and turned off with only 200 Watts being drawn (less that half the rating). I then let it fully charge and tested it. It could only run the system for a total of 10 minutes with new batteries and a 190W draw. What will it do with old batteries? Pay a little more and get an APC. On paper this is similar but in reality the quality doesn t compare. I ve already done my RMA.

I've had the unit for a couple of weeks and am totally satisfied. My computer draws 220 watts and it's done an excellent job of giving me clean power. The software is useful as is the LCD display. I replaced an older Energizer unit and would recommend the CyberPower.

Pros: I bought this from a local store. The Mail in Rebate came within 4 weeks. Fastest I have ever got one. The product itself is flawless and what I like most is that the unit stays almost completely cool unlike the other 2 brand UPS I own, which feel like little space heaters.
Cons: I wish the LED would stay on a little longer. Also, the on off switch is a bit too big and easy to touch and to turn off by mistake. Other products make you hold it down for 2 seconds or so.

Pros: Great UPS. It has plenty of plugs and provides a decent power to my components. The LCD is actually quite nice, it can give you real time status of voltages, frequency, power draw, battery life, load levels.
The software support for it is pretty awesome. I applaud Cyberpower for providing support for Linux systems.
Cons: For something so beefy, I wish it could power my computer for longer than a few minutes. The LCD is somewhat difficult to read at oblique angles.

For something so beefy, I wish it could power my computer for longer than a few minutes. The LCD is somewhat difficult to read at oblique angles. Although I haven't been able to measure the output with an oscilloscope, it seems to produce a modified sine wave, which may be a problem if you plug analog devices into it, but computers should be just fine.
The documentation is somewhat difficult to read, but still understandable enough to get the job done.

Can set it to SILENT MODE. This works great for my home theater setup where there isn't a PC connected by USB to tell it be quiet when the power goes out. None. I used the Power Panel software and USB cable while connected to my PC to disable the audible alarm, then set it up for my home theater. It didn't remember the setting. However, hold the function key for >3 seconds, and it will cancel the audible alarm.
    December 23, 2008 Coyote says:
This has been in use for almost a month now with 1 power outage and the battery was close to accurate (went dead with 3 minutes remaining). Software is simple but detailed enough. Silent setting isn t completely silent (still goes off at 10%/5min) tho not as loud as APC. At 35% load (1 PC, modem, router) backup will run for about 20 minutes. PS3 or 360 will add another 30% to load and reduce to 8 10 minutes. Only complaint is that the top of the battery housing inside the unit broke on shipping (looks like the battery was slammed so hard it burst through). This was most likely FedEx/cold weathers fault but it doesn t affect units operation.

Pros: Easy to set up, compatible with linux. The mfgr-supplied linux app works fine. Will run a fully loaded quad-core system and monitor for 5-10 minutes, less power-hungry machines for 30-60 minutes, easily long enough for an orderly shutdown. The units are attractive and surprisingly compact. I purchased three to protect some linux servers and workstations.
Cons: The documentation of the linux power app is poorly written, but understandable. Despite the bad english, the app was simple to install and configure.

Despite the bad english, the app was simple to install and configure. It would be nice if the pretty LCD display on the front panel remained on instead of blanking out after 30 seconds. However, this unit is a great value. It's not intended to run your powerful workstation for an hour after the power goes out, just long enough to shutdown without trashing your data and hard drives. It should allow the attached hardware to breeze through power blips and momentary outages.

This is the first UPS I bought with a display so I don t need to guess whether it is providing enough power, how much life is left, and other parameters. I just had 2 UPS failed and there is no way to know why they fail without any display. ONE complaint: It should require the user to hold the power button for a couple or more seconds to turn it off just like other UPS. This will avoid accidentally turning off the UPS by just hitting the button for 1/10 second. If it has that, I would give it 100% satisfaction.

I wanted to wait a while before posting this review so I had some time to play with this thing. I haven t had a power outage yet, but I ve pulled the plug and waited a good bit before plugging it back in. I bought two at the same time for two different computers. These two replaced ONE (1) single 350V UPS. Talk about upgrading, eh? While they aren t real cheap, these puppies definately do their jobs. They supply clean power and give warning of power outage and maintain their own power for a good, long time according to the load of course. I d say this is definately a good consumer choice.

Front display of various info including battery status and load level. Doen't stay on at all during outage if load level is above 50%.
Has to be power cycled to recover from overload. We plugged in 2 machines and load level read 67%. Battery said full. Upon losing power it immediately went into overload and turned off the outlets. When power restored it stayed in overload until turned off and back on (same load). It seemed to work correctly with 25% load, but that's useless.
That was our 2nd unit. The first unit we had to be RMA'd due to inability to fully charge the battery.

Our company recently switched it soure of UPS equipment. We now sell and install CYBERPOWER ups s. We have realized a big cost difference while using CYBERPOWER. The cost is lower than comparible units, and there are also many advantages when using Cyberpower. We have been installing about 30 units a month, and have not had any problems procuring and using these units. Pros: I had previously bought a CyberPower CP1500AVR900W to support my substantial Home Theater System which was suffering problems with frequent power fluctuations from my rural electric service. It has solved all of those problems and even kept the entire system going during several brief power outages.
I bought this less powerful but more fully-featured unit for my computer system.
It seems to have no audible alarms but when it comes on an LCD display illuminates. Using a switch below the disply, you can toggle through the input voltage, the output voltage and hertz, a bar graph of the battery power and some other useful information.
When the power goes out (I just pulled the plug for a test) the LCD display shows a bar graph of the battery power, a bar graph of the power load upon the unit and calculates the time it will continue to power those devices, which in my case was 33 minutes.
I didn't load the shutdown software as I have time to do it myself.
    Cons: None
