I'm finally able to have the keyboard, DSL connection, a printer, card reader and a spare USB port connected at once to a 2 port PC. Comes with a power supply to drive components that draw power thru the USB. And for [$] - can't beat that!

PRIMARY USE SHOULD REFLECT EDUCATIONAL NOT BUSINESS - Our school district wanted to use the product to provide a front of the CMT virtual station Host CPU solution to expand the number of ports for 4-5 students to put their flash drives in and copy their work at the end of the class period. Unfortunately with the variety of student owned flash drives there was not enough physical space between the ports to accommodate more than two flash drives on the unit at one time - if the unit had ports further apart it might have worked. We thought the product was well made and a solution to our specific problem[...] we thought we had a solution and were disappointed that it didn't work for this specific problem. Our Rating doesn't reflect the quality of the product just that we picked the wrong solution!

Pros: Connection to laptop is full USB 2.0 speed even if all attached devices are running at 1.1 speeds.Cons: gets a bit warmConnection to laptop is full USB 2.0 speed even if all attached devices are running at 1.1 speeds. gets a bit warm I just ordered a new M4300 and decided to get a newer one of these since the old one I have doesn't look as pretty as it used to (still works great though)

my only two gripes are as follows, #1 it gets really hot where the power cord connects and # 2 the usb cable to plug the hub into the computer is only as long as shown in the picture, not much more than an inch. =/ it is quick and small however so it definently serves its purpose for the price.

Don't expect to get good performance if you plug in a mouse, webcam, and a bunch of other stuff that wants all the bandwidth. Trying to mix 1.1 usb and 2.0 stuff on a hub isn't exactly a good idea. I would try and use your 1.1 devices (mouse) on a seperate usb port. IOGEAR makes good products, and there is nothing wrong with this product. xxxxxxxxx had a good article about USB 2.0 Hubs a month or two ago. Why don't you read that?
