Tried four different computers and two operating systems and got the same error message saying the card could not be formatted. This happened on a trip to Cocos Island, Costa Rica. Luckily I was using my trusty old 2 gig card for shooting. I would have been heartbroken if I had lost pictures from my trip!

High capacity - Low price Slow, flaky operation. Downloads of pictures even with card reader took FOREVER. I bought this because it was on sale and the capacity was huge. I got it to use in my Canon XTi and for a while it worked great. Then, while shooting it started to act up. I reformated it and lost 50% of the capacity. Using HD Tune PRO I got 11.7 MB/sec sequential write speed and 26.5 MB/sec sequential read speed. Tests were ran using a CF to 44-pin IDE and then a IDE to USB 2.0 adapter. 133x refers to the read speed only, write speed are less than half that. 1x = 150 KB/sec, 133x = 19.95 MB/sec. Random write speeds are less than half of sequential write speed, so when using this as as SSD, I probably got around 6 MB/sec.

Great card for money!! Farily quick Can't keep up with camera operating at 8 FPS - constantly. This is my second 16GB card, I've had my first for about six months. I use these cards in a Nikon D300 that I use for sports photography. Couldn't be happier! Have never had any issues as far as lost data. The only time it hasn't kept up to the camera is in high burst (8fps), when used at several bursts in a row with no break. For single bursts with about 10 seconds between burts its fine.
For the cost this is an outstanding card!

Cons: Slower than a SanDisk Extreme III...but that's to be expected.
Much less than other brands. Plenty fast for a 40D (about 103 L JPEG shots before the buffer runs out) being used casually...Sports shooters may want a faster card. HUGE! Slower than a SanDisk Extreme III...but that's to be expected.

    Pros: Good cost/storage ratio
    Cons: Random write performance miserable.
Good cost/storage ratio Random write performance miserable. Purchase to use with CF<->IDE adapter to replace aging notebook drive on my iBook. Read and contiguous write performance was awesome, but random write performance was miserable. Since most of the writing done by the OS is random, the card was unusably slow.

Pros: There aren't really any negatives. I've used these lower priced cards purchased from New Egg for several years - and never had a problem. Unlike my expensive Lexar which created a mess with a Canon incompatibility problem. I use mine in a 5D and with the exception of the note below, it's great.
    Cons: None

None Be sure your camera is able to properly handle a 16 GB card. Most more recent Canons will, but the 5D for one will not. Canon has not updated the firmware and many are concerned they won't -- yet another way to sell whatever they use replace the otherwise excellent 5D.
This is what happens. If you load this into the Canon, it will recognize it as a 16GB card and it works fine. You offload the images and at some point you format the card. Congratulations, your 16 GB card has just become an 8 GB.
It is possible to reformat the card, either in a cheap but recent Rebel -- and in theory you can do it via computer. I haven't had much luck with that - it's a royal pain. Canon should have warned people about this .. but...

Large capacity, good read and write speeds None This works well with a Canon EOS 40D. It holds over 1000 photos in 14MB RAW format.

Pros: Lots of space for a great price. Why pay $100's more to pretty much download your photos quicker? Download them to your pc and do something else in the mean time.
    Cons: None....yet...knock on wood

Pros: 16 GB of CF!!! Shooting RAW+JPEG is now not a problem.
Cons: Not as fast as my high speed Sandisk, but how can I complain with that amount of storage.
16 GB of CF!!! Shooting RAW+JPEG is now not a problem. Not as fast as my high speed Sandisk, but how can I complain with that amount of storage. I can remember paying the same price or more for a 256 Megabyte card in 2001. Here we are in 2007 and they have increased the yield by 62 times. WOW!
