    August 28, 2010 Nick V says:
Plenty of battery power to handle a computer, monitor and printer. I had one short power outage and it did shut down my computer like it is supposed to. The software is not included. You have to search Tripplite s web site to find and download it. It took me 10 minutes to find it but it downloaded successfully and it works. This product is a good option for a basic home computer set up.

Personally I don't need a lot of beeping to tell me the power is out. I can tell when there's an outage 'cause the lights go out. Install was super easy.

Pros: Compact unit, nice features, transformer spaced plugins.
Worked Ok through a couple of minor brown outs.
Cons: The first real power surge while using this UPS fried my computer's motherboard and my Vonage Phone adapter that was plugged into it. Those were the only two things on the battery side.

Worked Ok through a couple of minor brown outs. The first real power surge while using this UPS fried my computer's motherboard and my Vonage Phone adapter that was plugged into it. Those were the only two things on the battery side. I live in an area prone to spring power fluctuations, and have several computers; all on UPS.
In fairness, this unit seems to have survived the surge, not that I'll ever use it again, but that's a step above how my Rosewill unit faired.
The only equipment that wasn't damaged was that plugged into an APC unit.
