Seriously, especially for the money, this unit is more than fine for small to intermediate PC-ers, and I highly recommend it for A/V applications.

Pros: Pretty cool looking. Plenty of power. Like the display. Fast Shipping as always!!!
Cons: Did not come with a USB cable or free software to shut down my server. Most UPS units at leat come with a software to shut down or close programs before lost of power. No monitoring Software. I plugged in a usb cable and my server did not detect anything. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I would have given 5 eggs, but it didn't come with cable or software. Not new eggs fault.

Pros: 1) Big battery = long run time
    2) Overall happy with the product
Cons: 1) Sensitivity is adjustable by potentiometer on the back of the unit. I would rather see this a software adjustment.

It didn't come with the CD to install the software. Directions say to visit the website. This is fine because it forces you to get the latest version of the software but selecting the right software via the website is rather confusing.

I was reading someone s post where we were discussing UPS s and he said the display on his Omni LCD UPS quit working after a few months. I thought he was nuts. Mine was working fine a couple weeks ago when I checked it. Just to make sure, I went and checked mine. Sure enough, there wasn t a readable character on the whole display. Find something with a simple set of LEDs. If you get one of these LCD models, you ll be checking your warranty, too.

I ve owned all of the major brands of UPS and Tripp Lite seems to last the longest. I ve had the worst luck with APC. This one is a really nice unit. I have one on my entertainment center to save the TV and satellite in case of a power glitch. I have another on the computer and the old junky one went to my fish tank since I ve had up to 15 min outages within the last year. I think they appreciate it.
    October 14, 2007 MrFlo says:
Pros: Earlier this year we were having power outages daily, which is why I wanted the back-up system. But since I got it we have not had any power outages so this review is a little pre-mature, however I do like the feature of the lightening protection knowing it is there gives a sense of security that my equipment will be safe.
    Cons: None at this time.

Pros: Can stand verticle or lay horizontal, display rotates. Digital display is nice. Interesting how much the voltage varies in my house.
Cons: Spread out the sockets. only 2 sockets accept plugins with power supplies. Would be nice to turn off the display. Bright LED blue could be distracting if located in bedroom.

It is warm for the first day or two, but cools down. I suspect once the battery has caught up. Since I'm still waiting for a MOBO RMA, I have not really tested this product.

I actually bought this as a short term backup for my entertainment center when the power goes off for a few seconds. We live in an area where the power will blackout for 2 or 3 seconds, leaving the DVR to quot;reboot quot; while we were recording or watching a show on DirecTV. That being the case I decided a battery backup was the key. Since installation, we have had 2 such quot;black-outs quot; and the backup has worked perfectly...no hesitation, no reboot, simply perfect...The product performed so well I just ordered another one at the same price for my PC and Office setup...This is a really good deal for a unit of this size...I ve been looking at these for quite some time so I can attest! Go for it!

I have been bothered for some time with quot;power flickers quot;. The power would go out for a split second, just enough to have to reset the digital clocks, cable modem, router and computer. Since the purchase of the Tripp Lite Omni LCD UPS 900VA Tower, I now only have to reset my clocks. My computer is always online and ready to use. It works great and looks even better.

    November 10, 2006 Ken says:
I live in an area where there are a lot of power flashes, where the power will flicker off then right back on. I really like this UPS because of the large, easy to see display. The display can be turned off if you have a computer in your bedroom and the display bothers you. This unit has 8 outlets for use - 4 for surge protection only, and 4 for battery backup and surge protection. It s best to use the battery backup only for the computer and monitor, but not your printer because the printer draws a lot of current, and may not perform correctly, but that s going to be true of all types of laser printer and backup system. If the power goes out you probably don t want to be printing out anyhow. The neat thing about the display is it shows you the current voltage in big letters, and you can see it fluctuating if you look at it for a few minutes. Also on the display it shows you how much battery charge remains, just like on your cell phone. This unit looks sleek and is fairly compact for what it does, and provides useful information even when it s not quot;needed quot; - ie. the voltage and battery indicators.
    June 8, 2006 50CentReview says:
NOW you can have this information wow. NO more guess and using your software to monitor. The display is right there.
