Pros: Does as specified, also unlisted is it has either a ground loop isolator or a noise filter, when charging a device that is plugged into the radio (headphone out to aux in) there is no alternator noise/whine. no fan built in so its completely silent.
Cons: it turns itself off when you restart the vehicle and doesnt turn itself on, requires a manual off then turn on. only one oulet, would be nice if it had two, or a usb charging outlet

This thing is awesome, I have tried several (what I thought were fairly power hungry) laptops and it powers them just fine. nothing that i can think of While it would be nice to have a higher wattage output, you have to remember you are pulling this all from your battery/alternator. In the average vehicle neither of which were ever designed to power items like the outlet in your home.
Alternators are expensive to replace so I try to keep the load to a minimum to extend it's life.

The Tripp Lite PV150 is a standard single-outlet power inverter designed to be used to power AC appliances in a moving car. The compact unit is rated at 150 watts of continuous power supply, which should be more than enough to power a single appliance. The inverter will automatically shut itself off when the car battery reaches low levels in order ...

Tripp Lite is a pretty good company. They are up there with APC as far as power equipment goes.

There is no cons I can think of so far. Just watch power consumption of device you are using; if it sucks less than 120W, there will be no problem. I can leave this inverter on when the engine is off and it will turn on automatically when the engine is on no problem whatsoever, but I don't know if this is a good thing to do.

enough to power a desktop replacement laptop. (120w a/c) peak power is 150 but you actually get only 120w or risk blowing the fuse if using continuously instruction is scary because it talks about killing your car battery and also mention the need to replace the fuse.

Solid fanless design None Use on my boat and in my car. Continues to work even after being subjected to high humidity and physical shocks. Had it hardwired into the boat for a little while to run my DVD recorder, but I have since replaced the 12v plug and I am now using it in my car.

Pros: Compact, good deal, works as advertised.
Cons: Minor gripe: My car (subaru) is designed to cut 12V power when the engine is off. This triggers the low voltage switch built into the inverter. When I restart the car, I am forced to flip the power switch on the inverter off and on again for the inverter to deliver AC power again.
Compact, good deal, works as advertised. Minor gripe: My car (subaru) is designed to cut 12V power when the engine is off. This triggers the low voltage switch built into the inverter. When I restart the car, I am forced to flip the power switch on the inverter off and on again for the inverter to deliver AC power again. The low voltage cutoff switch turns off the inverter when the battery voltage drops below a threshold. This is designed to save the battery. I would give this product 5 stars if the switch was smarter, and re-enabled the inverter when the battery hit 12V again.

Pros: Works; looks good; smaller and lighter than I expected-powers the laptop perfectly and small enough to leave in the car
Cons: Fuse holder was broken out of the box-not worth returning it or giving a bad review (I simply have to unscrew the endcover to change the fuse) but kinda annoying just the same

Works well, no problems None I've only used it for a couple hours to power my laptop in my car. The power plug fit well in the cigarette lighter. The unit got just a bit warm, but not hot, and it was quiet. Construction seems solid. I think this unit is a good deal for the money.
