Pros: Good construction handles the load indicated. However never use more then 300 watt with it. Also you can mount the thing under the hood and run an external connector to the inside like I did.
Anything that will be used to operate over 175 watt should not be connected to the lighter outlet. This thing should be hard wired for max performance. I cut the plug off but not recommended for most people.
It works okay for the average person.
Cons: Noise from fan is a bit more then needed. You can put a different fan it but of course destroys the warranty. I put a low noise fan in that I had sitting around the office. Can hardly hear it and it actually out performs the original in air volume.

Sometime if a battery you are charging is to low, you have to start your engine to get it to charge and leave it run for a long time.. I also have a 175 charger and i don't have a problem. It take longer to charge.

Pros: High power output without dedicated battery connectors. Attractive color. Two power plugs. Has it's own fuse.
Cons: Fan is fairly loud (roughly equivalent to the level of highway road noise, but not enough to drown out a DVD playing or quiet talking).
High power output without dedicated battery connectors. Attractive color. Two power plugs. Has it's own fuse. Fan is fairly loud (roughly equivalent to the level of highway road noise, but not enough to drown out a DVD playing or quiet talking). Note that it doesn't operate at full power (output) unless the engine is running. For example, could only power one laptop without the engine running; the minute I plugged in the second laptop, the inverter shut off until I started the car.

So, be careful and check your car fuses capacity first before using this one.

Pros: The cost was low, allows continuous output, compact, nice long cable for mounting in a vehicle, and has 2 inputs that can peak out at a high-voltage.

The cost was low, allows continuous output, compact, nice long cable for mounting in a vehicle, and has 2 inputs that can peak out at a high-voltage. None so far I purchased a batch of these for employees at the company. They have laptop mounts and cellphones in their vans. This inverter mounted easily and so far have had 0 issues with it in all our vehicles.

Pros: Compact and power's many things, like my PS3, but only if you run new wire or hook it up directly to the battery.
Cons: Pretty noisy. I am not sure if it's just the fan or not. I really haven't got that far with it. I bought this so I could use my PlayStation 3 in my car. Turns out that my car could not power something that high unless I run it directly from the battery. It also got pretty hot when I did that. Fan seems to be spinning at the same loud speed no matter what load it's under, if any.

This particular inverter has some handy features, but I particularly like having two outlets. None I have not used mine extensively, just to keep my laptop going over long car trips. Therefore, I can't say anything about how well it will hold-up under heavy use.

    Pros: Durable,Easy To Install,Easy To Use,Versatile
This unit is the only way to charge cell phones, run a laptop. It's not really designed to operate higher draw power tools (skil saws, drills, etc...). For that, you'll need a generator.

I recently bought this for use on a four hour roadtrip to power my laptop with GPS. And while the GPS got stuck twice, the power worked without a hitch and I never got lost. It introduced a slight speaker hum when used to power my cd player in addition to the laptop. Many people mention that the cooling fan it uses is a bit loud, but you don't hear it once you get on the road, and it sounds cool when it spins down. You may also have to flip the inverter power off and back on if you only turned the car power on and not the engine.

Don't waste your time with anything else. This thing charges and runs my 17" laptop without any problems. The inverters made especially for laptops are only good for about 100 watts and cost two or three times as much.
