Description

The SU750XL on-line, double-conversion UPS protects critical server, networking or telecommunications equipment from blackouts, brownouts, voltage fluctuations and surges. Large-capacity 750VA/600W UPS continuously converts incoming AC to DC, then back to perfect sine wave AC output at 120V AC (+/-2%). Removes harmonic distortion, fast electrical impulses, frequency fluctuations and other hard-to-solve power problems not addressed by other UPS systems. True sine wave output and zero transfer time offer guaranteed compatibility with all equipment types. Includes 6 UPS supported outlets; 2 single-outlet load banks can be independently controlled via a software interface to selectively reboot remote equipment or shed less critical loads to extend battery runtime for the most critical equipment. Extended runtime available with optional BP24V34, BP24V15RT2U, BP24V28-2U, or BP24V70-3U external battery packs. Includes slot for internal SNMP/WEB card, plus DB9 enhanced serial monitoring port for unattended shutdown, remote control and monitoring of UPS system and power data. Cons: This unit uses a high rpm fan that sounds like a leafblower. It is designed for a server closet or similar environment. You can't use this in the same room as your PC - it's too loud. The fan is on whenever the unit is connected to the mains. The unit is interlocked to the rpm sensor on the fan so you can not just disable the fan.

Works fine as a UPS. I haven't scoped it so I can't speak to how true the sine wave output is. This unit uses a high rpm fan that sounds like a leafblower. It is designed for a server closet or similar environment. You can't use this in the same room as your PC - it's too loud. The fan is on whenever the unit is connected to the mains. The unit is interlocked to the rpm sensor on the fan so you can not just disable the fan. If you're inclined to do some splicing and/or soldering you can replace the fan; it is a standard 80x25mm case fan size. You will need a fan with an rpm sensor. I have done this with a fan with much much less airflow than the leafblower and I've had no issues. Be careful working inside, there are some big caps in there that can probably kill you.
