Description

Four-Port USB 2.0 Ultra Mini Hub lets you connect up to four USB devices to a single USB port on a PC, Mac or laptop. Certified by the USB-IF to support hi-speed data transmission rates up to 480Mbps, mini hub is perfect for both the desktop and mobile user. Self-stored cable is the size of a 3/8" thick credit card. For the desktop user, a provided extension cable puts the hub within easy reach wherever the PC is located. While the hub will function perfectly in virtually all cases without needing external power, a provided compact, international AC adapter (110/220V) connects an especially power hungry device. Hub is backwards compatible so it will function with USB 1.1 peripherals as well as USB 2.0 devices.

Powered hubs (that you plug into the wall) are relatively hard to find, since many people don't need them. However, you'll want one of these to charge multiple USB devices at once (e.g. multiple smartphones), or to hookup an external hard drive to a battery-operated host device.
At $20, this hub costs about the same as non-powered hubs. I have 2 of them, and they're reliable and work as expected.

Pros: it works the first few weeks
Cons: the hub began installing and uninstalling itself repeatedly and no longer functions. 30 day warranty for a product that lasts 32 days. its out of warranty so i opened it up. the center screw that attaches the two halves of the device smashed the usb cable and exposed copper wire causing a short. i believe that is the problem. incompetent assembly line. this product simply blows. actual "in-service" time was less than 3 weeks.

Pros: Seems to work well once powered. Small form factor. Came with extension USB cable and power supply (good thing it came with power supply, see Cons).
Cons: I don't know if this is due to my USB port, the Trifecta memory or the hub itself, but I suspect the hub: When not powered and I plug in my Trifecta memory 2GB memory, an mp3 will appear to copy over fine, but the data is scrambled and either won't play, or barely plays (like 2 seconds of it). I tried smaller mp3 files, renaming the files, all 4 ports, etc. Copying back to my pc from memory stick, same thing. Once powered though, the device works fine. Memory stick directly on PC worked fine too.

I think this is the best one due to the inclusion of the cords. A previous other brand

Pros: Compact, USB connector folds under to take less room. Comes with a 110 volt power supply and USB M/F extension cable.
    Cons: None.
Compact, USB connector folds under to take less room. Comes with a 110 volt power supply and USB M/F extension cable. None. This is a nice hub, you can tell it's geared toward a laptop user. It's small, which I find to be an advantage. I am using it to add extra USB ports to a server and was concerned about the short cable. When I opened the package I was pleasantly surprised to find a 4 foot USB male to female extension cable. The price for this powered USB hub is exceptional. Because it has it's own power it can be used to charge USB devices when not connected to a PC. LED comes on briefly when first connected, then lights when there's a active USB device connected to the hub.

Pros: Assists my external CD Drive in power as well as adds a USB connection site away my mousing area And has a little blue light.
Cons: When I first tried to assemble it, it would not come together, I tried several times then one day pushed harder and it fit together no problem. This was the only thing.

Comes with an AC adapter, but all my devices were able to be powered through my laptop. Small and lightweight, so its easy to carry when traveling. The only deficiency is the length of the USB cord that you connect to your computer. I wish it were several inches longer. Otherwise, a quality product and a good value.
