Description

Look to Verbatim UltraLife Gold Archival Grade CD-R media to preserve your family photos and important records as well as critical corporate data. Each disc is manufactured using proprietary unique Dual Reflective Layers (DRL) to maximize both compatibility and longevity.Verbatim's proprietary dual reflective technology is comprised of a silver layer for broad compatibility and a gold layer for long archival life. The highly reflective silver layer allows the UltraLife CD-R disc to look like a standard silver disc to CD burners. This feature provides a low initial error rate, important for long archival life, and the same drive read/write compatibility as standard silver-only discs.

The gold reflective layer is naturally resistant to corrosion. The gold layer overlaps the silver layer and prevents oxygen from coming through the lacquer layer or edge of the disc and corroding the silver. Silver oxidation can be a primary factor which limits the lifetime of CD media.

The combination of Verbatim's revolutionary DRL technology, high quality stamper and superior quality standards enables Verbatim UltraLife archival-grade CD-R discs to deliver new levels in longevity and performance without sacrificing compatibility.

    January 27, 2011 Mykl says:
I am a pro/am Photographer. I store all my images on Verbatim UltraLife Gold Archival Grade CD-R discs. Because, there is no degradation at all during photo transfers. My images are exactly perfect on the disk. I can send my disc images to a printing house. The prints I receive are precisely as expected. These discs allow me to leave a legacy for my friends and family. I love that. I have been using Verbatim for decades and this product has performed so well, I cannot for-see ever using any thing other than Verbatim UltraLife Gold Archival Grade CD-R discs. There are no negative aspects to this product from Verbatim.
    January 24, 2011 Jim says:
I have used this product in the past and it goes way beyond my expectations. I use Photoshop and Picasa 3 to crop, enhance, adjust, and give special effects to my photos and then save them on the Verbatim Gold Archival CD-R's. No matter how many times I read the CD's at whatever shop I use to print my photos or enlargements, I have never had an error or photo not being clear. And B&H has the best price for this product. This product, in my opinion, is the best for the price of any photo archival CR-R's. Jim Arlen
December 30, 2010 Eddie the Mountain B says:
I've had a lot of problems with the mass-market cheap CD-Rs that sell for as little as 10 cents each. I'd rather pay about 90 cents each for an Ultralife Gold Archival CD-R, and not have to worry about having to verify a disk I've just burned, and not have to worry about whether it will be readable 5 years from now.

These Verbatim Archival Gold CDR's are some of the best media available, and B$H Photo is the best place to get them! Great prices, [...] and great products!
    October 24, 2010 PSKArtz says:
Having experienced how unreliable many store bought CD-Rs can be I was thrilled to come across these at such a great price. If you care enough to take the time to backup your data onto a CD or DVD there's NO reason not to use a reliable product like this. The price for these gold archival CD-Rs isn't much more than the ones you can find in most stores (some now displaying disclaimers that they're only good for up to 2 yrs.)! I would definately recommend these to others!
    February 25, 2010 Jan says:
[...]began using the disks to send childhood photos to my six siblings. I hope they last for 25 years and keep the photos safe. Con - one of the first six disks did not work but the others were reliable.
    July 2, 2009 laredo53 says:
As a fire investigator, we need the reassurance that our images will be around for a long time. The gold archival disk will help provide this security. With related data specifying that archival disks should last greater than 20+ years we should be able to recall the images in the future as long as Cd players are still around.
May 21, 2008 Tom the shrink says:
I am using the product to make backups of important disks in case of failure or breakdowns. They have been easy to make, which has not been the case with other lesser blank CDs.
